Really? My bad. I didn't realize. Source?
Alyssa Ogawa says all that in Chapter 4 of Indistinguishable from Magic.

I'll have to check that passage again.

"The training for all medical staff, doctors and nurses, has been standardized since the Dominion War, to make it easier to put someone in the right gap, wherever."

I recently read this one and was not sure what to expect. I'd seen mixed reviews and had skipped this one when I first worked through the books from the whole Typhon Pact stage of the relaunches. I'm pleased to say that I enjoyed it. My biggest complaint is that it ends with the TNG status quo pretty much restored. I'd love to read more books set on the Challenger with Captain Geordi. All in all, a great TNG novel.

I just finished this book and while I won't say it's a 'lighter' story it's a good way to take a break from all the Typhon Pact machinations. Geordie centric along with everyone he's ever met. ;) I think it might have been better if they had gone with the original two book format but that's just a personal nitpick.

This is the first book by Mr. McIntee for me and I'm glad to report that is top notch and different from the others. Is more close to Beyer characters-driven stories than the standard plot-driven. Not at Voyager's books level, but a great read nonetheless.

I’m a 100 pages in and I’ve spotted something offensive. They have the XO say Scotty is British. I hope he hasn’t said that to him face-to-face because he would punch him. :)

Technically correct.

Although I was born in England and now live in Wales, I refer to myself as British.
