According to this article from LatinoReview.com, TNG cast could be in the new film

Today at the IDW Comics panel at WonderCon, they discussed the Transformers, G.I. Joe and Star Trek prequel comics. When it came time to talk about Star trek's prequel comics, they were talking about how the Next Generation cast plays an important role in the story of the prequel and that in the last issue, (issue 4 I believe) it ends in a major cliffhanger with Nero that leads right into the new J.J. Abrams Star Trek movie.

Does the cliffhanger and the beginning of the Trek movie involve the Next generation cast?
I don't think so, no. Wouldn't that be something we already heard about?

Really. I cannot believe such news could be kept hidden for so long but it's not out of the question, I suppose.

Referring to TNG first in regards to TNG's Spock is like all those Trek Today articles that emphasize actors' Trek connections as if it's the most prominent work on their resume... like Star Trek VI's Christian Slater, or DS9's Frank Langella.

^ In what other context would TrekToday have reason to mention such people if not their associations with Star Trek?

Nimoy was on TNG. :shifty:

So? That doesn't make him a "TNG character" in any meaningful sense. Spock is a TOS character - TNG doesn't get to claim him, sorry.

Nor Majel Barrett, since she'll be playing the "computer voice" that she did in TOS.

They could have slipped Stewart and Spiner in the film to coincide with the Countdown comic series.

cybersoldier, please don't quote articles in their entirety; it's a potential copyright headache. Instead, cite relevant portions of the article and offer a few comments of your own.

Meanwhile...

...since the rumor has already been debunked, I'll just close this thread and refer you to the discussions of Countdown and of various movie-related topics already in progress. :)
