Actually, I just thought of something:
I would like to propose an alternate form of the Hurt/Heal game for a test run in the future (give it a while, people are probably starting to get tired of these things)...
The Heal/Hurt Game
Every episode starts off with 10 points (just a matter of convenience to avoid having to use negative numbers).
Each turn, someone HEALS two points or HURTS one. The first episode to a set amount (say, 25 points) gets first place.
So you actually find out first first (which is kind of anti-climactic) but it is based much more on what we like than what we dislike. There will be more incentive for voting for truly favorite episodes instead of just helping along pretty good episodes that we don't want to see eliminated early, since there won't really be an "elimination" per se.
And because healing is faster than hurting, a few people dedicated against a great episode may only succeed in knocking it down a spot or two, not eliminating it very early.
If you think about it, this is probably a better way of ranking "favorite" episodes anyway - the bulk of each user's voting power goes towards helping an episode they love rather than hurting an episode they don't like.
Whaddya guys think?
