I remember deciding against buying this one when it first came out (I got £5 pocket money a month, which was enough to buy one but not both of the monthly Star Trek book releases, and I must have chosen whichever other book came out that month) so only picked it up years later, and wished I'd done so sooner.

It's been a good while now since I read it, but I seem to recall it gave everybody a good bit of focus, which I always appreciated. There was a great sense of humour as well - I remember thinking Riker's storyline was hilarious.

I just finished this book this morning. It was average and I really wasn’t finding the joke’s funny. I think someone compared this to How Much For Just The Planet?, but it’s nowhere near that book in terms of comedy.

Of course it was interesting when Riker was almost married to the granddaughter of the Dragon, but the Dr. Crusher came up with the excuse that Riker was infertile, and even though the granddaughter was okay with that, but the Dragon didn’t want any branch of the Royal family tree to be a dry branch, so he wouldn’t allow the marriage, but the Dragon did take Riker’s poker game winnings to compensate for not marrying his granddaughter.

I've had this one sitting in my Google Books account unread for a while, this thread has finally inspired me to move it up my to read list.
After all of the relaunch books, I've been in the mood for a story set during the TV series, so this should be a perfect way to scratch that itch.
