Stretching things, but he is mentioned in the Defiant's database in Enterprise's Mirror Universe episode. Although the part that mentioned him wasn't actually seen on screen.
Maybe DSC will take the opportunity to out-and-out canonize the guy already...he's certainly waited long enough.

I actually developed a series proposal built around April*. Then Enterprise was announced.

For sake of argument, why does the similarities or continuity connections mean that it can't be a parallel timeline? Especially when some people say every episode is a slightly different universe?
The intent that year was to create various connections specifically to the other series, especially TOS. That was a prequel in the truest sense.

Captain blasted Kirk barely gets a mention. It'd be interesting to count how many he times he's mentioned in passing in say DS9, Voy and TNG. (Excluding the nostalgia episodes where some of the characters themselves get shown on screen)
