TMP "Ring Ship" Model!

I was just browsing the Starship Modeler message board, and I ran across a thread announcing a forthcoming model of the TMP "ring ship."

I'm posting this in the Trek Tech and Trek Art forums, since it's probably of interest to people who hang out in either place.

Not bad at all. But resin is not my style. Give me that styrene plastic any day!

One thing I want to bring up about the Ring Ship as it was post-TOS/pre-TMP; IIRC, according to David Gerrold's The World of Star Trek, the Ring Ship was named the Spinnaker (For those of you non-nautical types a "spinnaker" is a type of sail.)

Given the strong resemblance of the Ring Ship to a sailboat or large sailing vessel, this name is quite appropriate.

I therefore suggest that if any fanconning is done concerning a prototype to the Declaration that it be named Spinnaker.
