Personally, both have excellence and flaws, I love 'em both, but, NOT as much as the ORIGINAL ship, especially with the remastered detail now visible.

It seems to me you are, I agree that TMP refit is better "balanced", and if that's important aesthetically to you, it's a serious concideration. In my case, since the advent of the Millenium Falcon, balance has not been that important to me, hence my acessment that the two basic redesignes are equally appealing.I think I'm being objective

Very fair to say, IMO.I always felt like the refit E nailed the proper balance between form and function, between fantasy and reality.
Even with the remastered FX? I felt that the E was way cooler & more defined without the sloppy (by today's standards) 60's opticals diffusing it's appearance.TOS-E felt too "plastic" to me.

Quoted for truth. The Enterprise refit is a wonderful piece of sci-fi design/engineering.
The Nu-Enterprise is a prop, built at the wrong scale, for the sole purpose of mutilating an icon to represent one man's idiosyncratic take on a cultural force bigger than his imagination.
