TMP:DE Documentary Material That Was Removed

Does anyone have any information on the material that was a part of the TMP-DE documentaries and/or commentaries but which was removed because Paramount thought it too negative? Did any of the other films have similar material removed?

Source?

I don't have a source. The matter has been discussed here many times. I know I've seen discussion about TMP having this issue. And it was allegedly being "too honest" that got Frakes' commentary track removed from Insurrection. I'm just accepting what others have said here and asking for details.

I believe Trevanian knows a lot about this, having himself interviewed a number of people who worked on TMP. But, sadly, he just signed off the site for a while, so I doubt he'll be able to add what he knows for a while.

If the details on the new blu-ray set are right, it looks like Frakes has been given another chance to bicker. already got mine pre-ordered. I seem to recalled when the special edition of Insurrection came out, Jonathan Frakes went on record as to say he didn't feel he had enough to talk about the film (and that he thought the bad guys weren't developed enough).

Ya Frakes commentary for FC was not very good either. I think the problem was it was just him alone and he probably did not feel comfortable just doing a monologue. Maybe the studio felt his Insurrection commentary was weak as well since originally it was just him again. I am very glad to hear that on the new blu-ray they decided to give it another go and it will be Frakes and Sirtis doing the commentary. I think having another person there will help them to remember more stories and feel more comfortable! I am looking forward to hearing it.
