TLJ Actor Kelly Marie Tran (Rose Tico) Deletes Instagram After Abuse

The Legends era stuff discussed distances in hyperspace. Short version - 7-10 days to travel from one edge of the galactic disk to the other.
There are other factors that influence speed:
1) Well known and charted hyperspace routes free from gravity "shadows"
2) Speed and capability of the hyperdrive
3) The ludicronium or unobtanium or whatever the new hyperdrive fuel is called - which apparently can boost performance and speed.
So it has always been possible for a person to travel at the speed of plot in the SW universe.

If a fast ship can be across the Galaxy already in maybe an hour, space isn't all that big to this civilization. Meaning basically anyone who wants to , can be there in half and hour from any nearby sector, and even up to halfway across the galaxy. The slowest point for them will be getting and preparing their ships to take off, and getting into space enough to jump to hyperspace.
And avoiding bad guys ;)
