Title sequence?

Seeing the post about Discovery's theme, made me wonder if we're going to get a proper title sequence for Star Trek's new era?

All of Star Trek's themes have been memorable for varying reasons. Also, will we get a return/variation of the 'Space, the final frontier... Where No One Has Gone Before' monologue?

Sadly though, like with most modern TV series I think we'll just get a five second musical sting followed by a title card.

Ah I must have missed that piece of news. I'm glad to hear that.

Great title sequences are few and far between but they do come. Often such intros will need a profound theme to build excitement.

Very true. While I'm no fan of Game of Thrones, I will agree that the title sequence/theme is one of the best on TV right now.

In this day and age where episode titles seem redundant when you launch the episode from a menu for many shows, having the episode title onscreen seems redundant in my mind. I hope they leave it out.

As for the title sequence, I'm very excited to see it.

It would probably depend on the story, if it requires a cold opening.

Anthony Rapp says the cast has been shown the title sequence, and that it's amazing. He says it's an instrumental orchestral piece, no lyrics, and not a mere "two-second sting" like some were afraid of.

The streaming era has resuscitated the title sequence now that exact episode timings don't matter quite so much. I'm glad Discovery is getting one, I have a soft spot for good ones.
