Titan: Over a Torrent Sea blurb

Thank you Christopher. I'm liking what I see and no matter what happens, I feel confident that I will like Over a Torrent Sea.

I'm so glad that Aili is going to be one of the big focuses of this book. She's seemed pretty cool so far, and I'm curious to learn more about her.

"Thirty Days" really was a well-written episode and the idea of the water-planet (including the species and the way they looked) was very well handled.

I'm so looking forward to that book 'cause I know that Christopher will achieve an even deeper look into this subject. And I'm hoping for some Riker/Aili-backstory.

You want deep? I got deep. There's deepness in this book like you wouldn't believe. Particularly in Chapter 13.

I actually have an issue with that. I love the premise and the hard SF theory is great, but I think a more Greek/Latin-based name would be better-suited, like Hydros or something, or a nod to a film/tv show that the writers love using as in-jokes. That said, I hope that the sentient species have a name for their world which is adopted.

Hydros is the name of the oceanic planet featured in Robert Silverberg's 1991 LitSF novel, The Face of the Waters. :)

TGT

There's a William Hartnell Doctor Who story where they visit a desert planet called (wait for it) Aridius. Kind of makes you wonder what they called the planet before the oceans dried up and the ice caps all melted, doesn't it? :p

Humidius? ;)

The same writer also featured a planet full of mechanical creatures called, astoundingly enough, Mechanoids. The name of the planet, of course, was Mechanus.

Earth?

Just finished A Singular Destiny last night, and I'm already jonesing for this one! Christopher, any chance you'll have copies at NYCC, or is it too early for that?

I'm not sure, but I'm hoping.

I really wish I could make NYCC to meet you and possibaly get get a copy earlier than 3 weeks from now. Unfortunately, even though I'm only a couple of hours train ride from NYC, I can't afford it.

Now, I'm going to be a pain in the "bleep". What are the chances of seeing an excerpt in the near future?

Excerpts aren't my department. Maybe Margaret Clark or TrekMovie's Anthony Pascale could tell you something.

Interesting blurb. Can't wait to read this book once it comes out. Going to make sure to order it online so I won't have a hassle with trying to find it, just like ASD. Just happy that another Titan adventure is finally coming again, even through the ship and crew were also in the Destiny trilogy too.

So Christopher, how long ago did you finish that novel? Or are you still writing on it?

^It's going to show up in stores any day now. I do so hope that my copy doesn't have scribbles and notes in the margins. :p

I put in my request for my local Barnes & Noble to hold a copy for me. If it's like the Destiny trilogy, it should be there a few days before it's scheduled release date. I'm hoping. I think I can make a couple of more weeks.
