Time travel episodes?

ReadyAndWilling

Fleet Captain
hey guys, i just watched 'A Matter of Time' where a supposed 26th century time traveler goes back in time and it's really great. i also loved 'the royale'. what are some of the other time related eps i could check out?

thanks

There's that little known episode called "Yesterday's Enterprise". I hear good things about it.

We'll Always Have Paris
Contagion (kind of)
Captain's Holiday
Clues
Cause and Effect
Tapestry
Timescape
Firstborn
All Good Things

These all have something to do with time in one way or another.

I was just thinking the other day, that it's kind of a shame we never got to see the TNG gang travel back to our "present day."

I know VOY did it, and it's the kind of cheesy gimmick most fans can't stand, but I still think it would have been fun to see characters like Data or Worf walking the streets of, say, 1990's New York, and reacting to all the crazy customs and fashions of that time. :D

Well, in Times Arrow a number of eras were discussed to visit including the 1920s, the 1950s and the present. But it was decided that "The Voyage Home" came out too recently to make a time-travel episode to the present to be worthwhile. They may have also being considering the potential continuity issues considering the 1990s of Trek's past were supposed to be very different than the actual 1990s.

hey man, thanks. i just watched 'timescape' and it was awesome.

I liked the Voyager ep. The whole 'Bill Gates' thing and all. Some of the other stuff (Rain) I could've done without.

Time travel stories are one of my favorite types of stories in science fiction. I do like the TNG time travel stories although I also wish they had visited the modern era.

How is Contagion a time travel episode? They use the Iconian gateway to travel to different places, but I don't recall it being used to travel to different times.

ReadyAndWilling,
No problem. :techman:

To clerify, I did say "has something to do with time". I also put the '?' next to Contagion because its been a while since I have seen it and am unclear on the capabilities of the Gateway. Its the images of destinations that have left me uncertain, especially (IIRC) the one of pyramids. I was never sure if all of the destinations where real time, or if some where past/future. Then again, my mind might be taking liberties and giving the Gateway some of the abilities of the Guardian of Forever.

Yesterday's Enterprise, as noted earlier by another poster, is worth seing a second time. It is an old fashioned time travel story and gives us Yar lovers more of what we wanted at the time-more Tasha!

Yeah, here's another episode that I need to rewatch. Some of the scenes in the Gateway show Iconian cities, but I can't remember if there was any dialogue specifying that they were in the past or not. If so, then yes, I'd go along with you that this is a time travel episode. If they discuss time travel, even if they don't experience it, I'd say it qualifies.
