Definitely going to see it with my girlfriend and her daughter. Funny thing. When I initially asked them if they would go, the girlfriend said sure, but her daughter (who is 16) looked at me strange. Then she saw a few of the commercials for it and now is excited. She was expecting it to be stuff from the old days and genuinely seems excited about the movie.

If her reaction to this is a sign, I think the movie will do fairly well.

I think a hugh percentage of the people now saying 'pffft' will eventually cave to the positive WOM that will be warping around the World come May 8th.

Anyone that's seen the movie care to validate my prediction, is there going to be wave of excitement we cannot currently see coming but you can?

I will be seeing the movie atleast once, the first time on an IMAX screen (cost of ticket $15.25) and most likely again on a regular screen.
When the TNG films were in the theater I saw each of them a few times.

I'll probably see it at least once on opening weekend, probably twice -- once with the family, once with the girlfriend (and we may bring along one of our old friends and his girlfriend). That'd be a total of 9 tickets sold attributable to me on the first weekend.

Knowing me I'll probably see this in theaters at least twice. Twice with tickets and then I'll wait until the DVD release this fall.

I will see it in the theater. When and where, I do not know. Opening night would be cool, but I don't know yet. I hope to go at least sometime during opening weekend. I'm not even sure who I will end up going to see the movie with.

I think the film will be successful but I don't want to get expectations too high. It definitely won't have the same mass appeal as other summer blockbusters, and it certainly won't have the highest gross of the summer films, but hopefully it will be successful enough to please Paramount and allow for Trek XII's development to continue.

I'm going on May 9th or 10th the first time. Not braving opening day/night crowds.

I feel quite the opposite. I usually prefer a lightly attended matinee when I go to the movies, but I've never seen a Trek film on opening night, and I'm looking forward to seeing it with a packed and sympathetic house.

Just bought 6 tickets - 3 for May 7th at 7pm for an IMAX showing and 3 for a Saturday matinee on the 9th.

I plan to see on May 11th. I work the weekends, I want to see it on an IMAX screen first, and thats like 30 miles north of where I live and I work like 36 miles south, and I'm off on Mondays so it just makes since to go on my day off.

I'm going opening night with my friends and then on the following Sunday with my dad. I think that it will be a success.

I did so with GENERATIONS and the three SW prequels and felt burned from the size and behavior of the crowds. Nowadays I wait until the second or third day.
