Time to Change the 24th Century Uniforms?

My, the Vulcan on the cover has prominent... ears.

Here's a shot I found online (from a skyscrapercity.com forum, posted by someone who goes by VaastruShasta) that compares the Star Trek Online uniforms with the ones that were used in the Countdown comic. They're pretty much the same, but in both cases less... embellished.

They feel more like Star Trek uniforms here, but I still feel they should stay in the domain of the 25th Century.

The game takes place during 2409, which is right smack in the middle of the future timelines we saw in "All Good Things," "The Visitor" and "Endgame," so it would have been cool if the game used the "future uniforms" featured in those episodes, but I guess they're not cool enough. Since all three of those future timelines were changed it doesn't really matter, but since they kept popping up in the future for ALL the shows, I figure they're destined to happen eventually.

If other media accepts that the Countdown/Online uniforms are being used next, then I suppose the "future" uniforms could always come after it. (Or not at all, sigh.)

I'd be ok with using the Countdown/STO style uniforms... I love the FC Uniforms a lot but if they're going to change then this new style suits me just fine.

Just me but the FC uniforms look stifling hot to me! Maybe it's only 18 degrees on a starship or someting...anything hotter than that and those uniforms look like too much.
I'm still OK with them...but wouldn't mind if they change either. What do the uniforms from the online game look like?

Pretty bad, in my opinion.

They look somewhere between pajamas and something out of an Image comic. Especially on the cover of PC Gamer.

The ones in Countdown look far better than the ones in that (early and thankfully unused) shot. Just look at the first pic of Captain Data (as posted by Fer)- it's like the fairly lame Voyager uniforms crossed with Stargate Atlantis, but cooler than either.
(also: floating hologram screens over consoles. Brilliant!)
