Time for humanity to "change" in trek

Ever since trek began, from the first The Cage and WNMHGB to Encounter at Farpoint and WNOHGB, Hide and Q, WSHL and Q Who, The Best of Both Worlds and on and on and on Trek has touted that Humanity is "special" The Metrons have said it, the Aegis saw it, the Traveler have said it(in a round about way) the Q fear it if i remember correctly, so why not go there, Human beings with higher ESP ratings are starting to evolve, and eventually in the series not just them, but all humans are, you could have your Gary Mitchel types, whose power controls them, the type who learn to control there power, those that fear and hate those who evolve, those who embrace them, ect ect ect, fling it out a couple of thousand years, or more, how would the current and future members of the Federation react(a reunified Vulcan/Romulus, the Tholians, the cardies, some DQ species, maybe "liberate" the borg somewhere along the way) exploration of the Andromeda galaxy has been under way for xxx amount of time, maybe some A-G species in the fed, a time when humans had almost gone to the back burner of the federation, then "boom" people start changing, silver eyes(ok maybe not that "in") mental powers start to show thereselves ect ect like i said above.

The Q as mentors to some groups, the Metrons mentors of others, the Organians mentoring and protecting unevolved humans from the mitchells, ect ect ect, could be interesting, but a bit out there for TV

I've always thought that Q was never a "villan" bent on the downfall of humanity. But rather, a harsh teacher shepperding humanity on its next evolution, which is possibly to become part of the Continuum. At the risk of this becomming Star Trek: Heroes, I can see pockets of humans on Earth and various Federation colonies and even in Starfleet developing ESP, TK and other abilites. It would force Q and his kind to step from the shadows and take a more active role in the human race's existence. This could shift the balance of power within the Galaxy, with non human races within and out of the Federation standing up and taking notice. Plus humans, who don't take kindly of having their destiny charted, would definitely take issue with the Q's running their lives. Throw in some trigger happy Section 31 higher ups who see the military application for such special people, and you got a hell of a drama that shakes up the whole Trekverse.

In ENT, we saw that future "humans" were a mix of species from all across the Federation.

So maybe it's the Federation, and not just humans, that evolve into...something else.

An entity that once identified himself as Human perched himself wearily on the ledge of a precipice and just observed. It was the most beautifully clear night in the City Of New Orleans. He couldn't talk to anyone or intervene in any way even just to nod socially to random passersby. The Starship Avalon wouldn't be back to Starfleet Headquarters for another three weeks.

Three weeks too late to stop The Borg. Damn the Travellers' non-interference. He'd be permanently exiled from the brotherhood for this. Marcus struggled with the consequences of shooting himself in the foot by enacting a get-out-of-jail-free flick of his paw, sweeping the Collective all the way back to the Galactic Barrier. Damn the alledged "temporal dominoe effect".

If he acted, he couldn't re-ascend & manipulate future circumstances, regardless of the problems' origins. The Aegis wouldn't be happy with him either. Good/Evil, re-writing entire universes in a race's own image, nature's own system of checks and balences, & the critical need for law & order even on their plane of existance.

The Fleet in tatters. A few exceptionally talented individuals that would stand an authentic chance at hobbling the mechanical locusts were too far away, if allowed to travel home unassisted.
