Time for a resurgence in Trek interest?

Besides the actual film itself, I don't really see a big resurgence in Trek generally. I think some people may want to see the six original ST films after seeing JJ's Trek, and some might check out Next Gen because they remember that show from their youth, but the 90s Trek series will essentially stay in the same place. Any resurgence will elude them because they're very seperate from Kirk and co and still signify the point that most people lost interest.

But what about the new fans who came in through the new movie and are discovering (and greatly enjoying) the older stuff?

That has to cheer you some.

Look at me (figuratively speaking), the new movie spurred me on to get a phaser, a communicator, an Enterprise, I'm workin' on getting season 3 TOS on dvd, I joined THIS site...
