Time Bandits II

Hope this gets made someday. Like to see the kid visit Sinbad or Black Beard. Talk of a part II & ideas been bandied about, but nothing's come of it yet. Anyone have info, heard rumors & the like?

I always thought the Time Bandits concept would have worked as a TV series, perhaps as an animated series.

I don't know if there will be a sequel, which is a shame. There were rumours of a millennium-themed sequel, though, according to its Wikipedia entry.

Unfortunately, David Rappaport and Jack Purvis are no longer with us, and it wouldn't be the same without them.

I agree with Christopher, without Rappaport and Purvis, it woudn't be the same. The first was so unique and fun, I'm not sure they could replicate that again (especially if Gilliam wasn't involved).

Hmmm... feeling the need to watch this again.

I wonder how many of the others are no longer around. Little people have notoriously short life spans, generally speaking. I see 3 other names at IMDB that have "date of death" listed for them.

It was nice to see Kenny Baker outside the "tin can".

Loved "Time Bandits" but I don't think it needs a sequel (why does every movie NEED a sequel????), especially not at this point. A sequel to TB would not do the first one justice at all IMHO. Hollywood should just leave well enough alone sometimes.

BTW you can now download the end credits song, "Dream Away" by George Harrison, via iTunes.

The actor who played the kids father, David Daker, also appeared in Dr Who in Nightmare of Eden. He was very good too, played a ship captain that got whacked on Vraxsoin. Also Clark's brother from the Vacation movies, Randy Quaid looking thinner than usual plays a game show host with English accent.

Very good movies often do get sequels. This one lends itself to such as it features a story framework that a lot can be done with.
