Tim O'Connor 1927 - 2018

N-121973

Fleet Captain

I just saw this on my Star Trek.com feed on Facebook, confirmed by the New York Times, Fox News and others: Tim O'Connor whom I grew up watching as 'Dr Huer' on season one of 'Buck Rogers in the 25th Century' has died aged ninety from cancer. Rest in Peace Mr. Connor. I also remember is guest appearances in 'The Six-Million Dollar Man' and 'Star Trek: The Next Generation'. According to the article he really was from Chicago which makes his line to Buck in the pilot of BR25C 'There's nothing like Chicago left on Earth.' all the more poignant. :weep:

Rest in peace Mr. O'Connor. He brought a touch of class to Buck Rogers and I really missed Dr. Huer during the second season of the show.

Liked 'On Thursday We Leave For Home' of the TZ. 'And when they pray to God, his name won't be Benteen.' as their intrepid leader. I also hated his departure from Buck Rogers and their new format and characters. It just didn't work without him.

I was sorry to hear, he was all over TV when I was a kid. He looked good in the Forbidden Planet hand-me-downs in "On Thursday We Leave For Home," a great TZ episode, and "Soldier" was a great Outer Limits. Even as a kid I hated season 2 Buck Rogers. RIP.
