Tig Notaro to Guest Star in Season 2

I'm not complaining.

Some other people on Facebook I could complain about for forgetting key elements of the premise of the series are already doing that. To my annoyance.

Anyway, back on topic...

The funniest comedian of the 20th century, hands down, was Red Skelton..., with Johnathan Winters coming in a close second.

Joe P would even say so himself.

Dick Van Dyke and or Lucille Ball.

I watched Notaro's comedy special on Netflix. She seems to have a low key deadpan delivery stye, similar to Steven Wright. Someone correct me if I've gotten the wrong impression of her style.

I could see her engineer being a low key, snarky, cantankerous, but highly competent person, sort of like Kaylee on Firefly, but with more of an edge and funnier. Of course I could be completely wrong about her character.

The show needs more, I’d be happy if someone from all of LGBTQ gets representation at last on Star Trek. There are cartoons written for children that manage to pull that off, a show that prides itself for being daring when it comes to representation should be able to do that at a minimum.

George Carlin for hard R crowd
Jerry Seinfeld for everyday PG crowd
And Robin Williams for everyone else

Johnathan Winters was Robin Williams' "IDOL" and he use to practically bow-down to him whenever they were together.
(though I would definitely put Robin as my third choice)

Seinfeld can't light a match next to either of the gentleman I mentioned.
(he's good but not nearly in the same category)

George Carlin described himself more as a "Satirist" than a Comedian, on many an occasion.
(though technically, he loved quantifying words in a way that most folks would be hard-pressed to think of in such a manner anyway)

And JoeP, are you time travelling again???
:nyah:

We often don't recognize genius in its own time. So, I've always got a chuckle out of the idea that Joe Piscopo of all people would be seen as the greatest comedian of the 20th century by people a few centuries from now.

Do you think early '80s SNL is studied by comedians across the galaxy? That the 1986 film Wise Guys is considered the greatest comedic film of all time?

Joe Piscopo was not playing himself. He was an actor hired to play the role of a famous comedian.

Correct. I never said that. I said:

It's a funny idea I had, but not the intention, to imagine Piscopo as playing himself. Please try not to take things I say seriously.
