Thursday (6/25) Box Office - Trek #8 - $0.6 million

^^^^
Anybody have any idea why Angels & Demons sucked domestically but owned internationally?

Beats me... any idea why Trek did pretty much the opposite?

I suppose the European setting might be a factor in Angels & Demons' global success.

I've been told the answer is two words: TOM HANKS. And there you have it.

Well then we have the answer to are next Trek movie, get Hanks in there, because he wants to be in it anyway. I am sure he would be willing to take a pay cut if he was allowed to be a captain of a federation starship.

Maybe a rogue captain that was married to a Vulcan that was killed off screen in the first movie, and Kirk has to hunt him down. Because he is attacking Romulan outposts, for revenge.

Hanks was apparently in line to play Zephram Cochrane in First Contact, but for whatever reason, it didn't work out. Fortunately, the movie did well enough without him, but think about how much bigger it could have been if Angels & Demons' success is an indication of his effect on a film's box office totals.

Yeah, Tom Hanks has been discussed in two or three threads already that I recall.

He couldn't do it because he wanted to direct That Thing You Do.
