teacake it appears you were not the only one to see potential in Threshold. Cygirl1 wrote a fanfic where the Thinktank track down one of children.

I haven't read the story so i don't know if it is good. I stumbled across it while looking for another story. I'll read it soon as the story premise is different.

I don't get why they didn't use this (the warp ten thingy) to get home. After all they might all turn into lizards but thanks to the doctor, this would only be temporary. What's the slight discomfort caused by a temporary lizard state compared to being home?

They didn't have a steering wheel or brakes.

They just turned the engine on and off, and looked out the window to see where they were.

Which is even internally with the respect to he episode bad science, since if they are simultaneously in every point of the universe, it's miracle they came out of transwarp in the same galaxy, god forbid just a couple days flight from voyager.

Because of the babies. Janeway and Paris were only lizards for the briefest of time but they immediately reproduced. They would have come out of warp 10, the EMH would have reverted everyone to humans and the decks would have been crawling with offspring. What to do, what to do.
