Threshold Line-by-Line

Hello, Welcome!

We recently completed the The Magicks of Megas-Tu thread in the TOS/TAS forum!

For any unfamiliar with our "game," you are asked to post only a single line (defined as one character speaking without interruption by another character) per message. You can post as often as you like, but someone else must post a line in between your posts.

Our "rule" is that if the episode has a "To Be Continued..." on the end, it is done in a single thread, but if it's just an arc of related episodes (like the Dominion Occupation Arc on DS9 or the Xindi Arc on ENT), each episode is a separate thread.

PARIS: Warp 5. Warp 6. Warp 7. I've reached critical velocity.

 

[CaptVader]

TORRES [OC]: Okay. Everything looks good on this end. Fire up the new engines.

 

[Oddish]

KIM [OC]: Try to stabilise your field symmetry.

 

[Orac]

Paris: Got it. Warp 9.6, 9.7. I'm reading a fracture in the port nacelle pylon.

 

[Oddish]

TORRES [OC]: "Full power to structural integrity."

 

[Orac]

Paris: Warp 9.9, 9.95. I'm approaching the threshold, but the nacelle isn't holding!

 

[Soaraway]

KIM [OC]: Tie in auxiliary power!

 

[Oddish]

PARIS: "It's no use. I'm breaking up! I'm breaking..."

 

[Soaraway]

(Holodeck)

(Paris is sitting on the floor.)
Torres: You're dead.

 

[Orac]

[Later in the Mess hall]

Torres (continued): It's the pylon again. Every time we get close to crossing the threshold, the subspace torque rips a nacelle off the shuttle.

Kim: What about a duranium alloy? We could try using it to reinforce...

 

[Hopeful Romantic]

TORRES: --No, I've thought about that already. It's too brittle.

 

[Soaraway]

Neelix: More coffee? Ah, you look like a happy bunch.

 

[Rocky6]

KIM: We've hit a wall.

 

[Soaraway]

Neelix: Oh. Well, maybe I can help.

 

[Athena28]

PARIS: Great. Do you know anything about quantum warp theory or multi-spectral subspace engine design?

 

[Soaraway]

Neelix: No. But I'm a quick study. What are we working on?
(Neelix sits and looks at the array of PADDS.)

 

[Orac]

Torres: Do you have anything to eat?

 

[Soaraway]

Neelix: Sure. There's some Kalavian biscuits, somewhere in the kitchen.
