Spoilers Thoughts on the Enterprise's newest crew member?

So, what's the consensus of "Kevin"? Personally, I thought the scene with Kevin was a bit too cute, but, hey, if Keenser can become a member of the crew in good standing, why not Kevin? In fact, do you think there would be any prohibition of certain alien races from joining Starfleet? I mean, what if a Horta, or an Excalibian or even a Medusian wanted to be a member of Starfleet? How would accommodations be made for non-bipedal species? At any rate, I did think the "no pants" joke was funny at least...

I must have not caught on with this character. Was he knew of the little aliens from the beginning?

On that thought it opened the door on what shapes/sizes of beings can starfleet accompany in a ship like the Enterprise? How about Humminbirds with uniforms? Are there microbe-sized crewmembers on the Enterprise too?

Two of them accidentally beamed up with Kirk. What happened to the other one?

I also chuckled at "Kevin"! In-universe, could be that his real name is near-unpronounceable by humans, and went with Kevin as "close enough". ;)
I like that idea. It's not unlike how many real-life Chinese people choose secondary Western names for dealing with English speakers.

I found him great. The more aliens on the Enterprise, the better. :)

By the way in some old TOS novels a Horta was part of the Enterprise crew. It worked really well. I hope they add one in the new series.
