Thoughts on Anthropology

I recently started watching Ancient Mysteries with Leonard Nimoy. I find this type of content fascinating and it is what I intend to major in. I highly recommend watching Ancient Mysteries, if history and archaeology are interests of yours, it is available on Prime Video. Anthropology is an extremely fascinating science imo, and I would like to discuss it with anyone interested.

I minored in Anthropology in college. (1971-1975) I really love history, the older the better. (I majored in Biological Science) A professor told me that if I tried to run a dig, especially overseas, no man would listen to me. I got more use out of my degree in Biological Science anyway. But I still love archaeology, anthro, and paleontology and keep up with it all.
I especially am interested in ancient Egypt, and fossils like dinosaurs ever since I was a kid.
What are your areas of special interest?
Honestly, if you want to make a living from your degree, I don't know if anthropology is the way to go. You would probably need a doctorate and that would be expensive.

I am planning to go the professor route. I am also planning to pursue my doctorate. I don't have a desired university, planning to go wherever the wind takes me.
The areas of special interest are American civilization, especially the Mayans and Amazonian tribes. I have recently been researching ancient Egypt. Ancient Egyptian art is interesting, and Old Kingdom art is one of my favorites.
Maybe forensic anthropology could be the way to go. I wish I'd known about it back then.
Hmm ok, I'll check it out. That sounds interesting.

I majored in anthropology in college. Minored in geography and history. Just mentioning this here seems to be a magnet for all the doorknockers to descend on me to tell me that I'm going to hell for "believing in evolution."

My classical history prof got me addicted to Roman murder mysteries.
