In the TV spots, the stuff on Earth looks better and better compared to the Asgard stuff which just looks hokey as all hell. The big metal thingie that's supposed to be threatening the humans isn't particularly convincing...but Hemsworth has some magnetism.
The "big metal thingie" is the Destroyer and I'm sure it'll get your attention in the movie.

Yeah, I kinda figured that was the point of it, there. In fact I'll stick my neck out and guess that it figures significantly in the action climax of the film.
I may go see this the day of the royal wedding

My hunch is the Destroyer is the big action sequence in act II of the movie. It appears Thor is still depowered, hence still in 'Earthen' attire vs his Norse armor. We see the Warriors 3 and Sif with him. I suspect they've come down to warn or help Thor knowing that the Destroyer is coming for him and he doesn't have his hammer. The "big metal thingie" is the Destroyer and I'm sure it'll get your attention in the movie.

Is the issue of who can lift Thor's hammer going to figure into the story of the film?

My understanding is that Thor discovers Captain Robau using Mjolnir to hang pictures.
Nice.Stan Lee's cameo is part of the whole no-one can lift the hammer unless he's worthy' bit.
Nice, especially liked the spot in the second trailer about the 26 second mark where the hammer comes to him, and lightning strikes down. I assume that is a transformational moment, worthy yet again?
uh... Kirby's DEAD, man. he died in the '90s!
