He's from another realm whose inhabitants were the inspiration for some Eastern Mythologies.

They had to come up with that explanation when folks noticed he didn't look like the others (which is because the artist based his appearance off of Charles Brosnan).

Charles Bronson.

I'm used to people calling Pierce Brosnan by Charlie's surname but this is the first time I've seen it the other way round!

I'm from the poor generation that's more familiar with Pierce but not Charles because they don't show enough old westerns or "Death Wish" movies anymore...

I wonder if Kat Dennings will be able to return if 2 Broke Girls is still around after this season? And if Jaime Alexander isn't back I'll be pissed. I'm not going to boycott the movie or anything, but I definitely won't be happy.

^ If she does return I hope they give her better lines. I didn't like her performance at all and I'm a big Kat fan. Jamie Alexander NEEDS to be back I agree, I'll be disappointed if Sif doesn't return. I hope they add Valkyrie since she's had an increased profile in the Marvel Universe over the years.

I'd be alot more disappointed if Jamie Alexander didn't return than Kat Dennings. Ms. Dennings character was fun, but I don't think her being gone would really hurt things that much. Sif on the other hand was IMO a much more important part of the story, and I wouldn't mind if they did more with her and Thor's relationship, since that seems to be a pretty big part of the comics.

I actually really liked the small conversation between Sif and Frigga at the end of the film...the latter seemed to pick up on Sif's feelings towards Thor and her struggle to put them aside (at least for now).

I hate to admit it, but I'm actually kinda hoping for a Sif-Thor-Jane triangle in Thor 2.

This is something that should explore. It seems as noted they were alluding to that with the Sif/Frigga conversation at the end of the film.

As for Thor "visiting other worlds" that sounds vague. They could go anywhere with that.

I didn't have any issues with Sif's lines... I DID have an issue with Jaime Alexander's very bad accent. If she comes back, I hope they hire a good dialect coach...

As for Thor's age, etc.... I've seen a couple fanfics use the idea that there is more than one Ragnarok, and that Asgard and its inhabitants go through cycles of creation and destruction. So while there may be an innate overall memory of being around for a thousand-plus years, perhaps with every cycle, Thor and the like start out relatively "new" and must relearn and regain maturity.

I don't think there are any dialect coaches out there who specialize in Asgardian accents. ;)

^That's actually part of the original mythology too. And I thought the whole cycle of Ragnaroks thing was used in the comics.

I got the movie on ITunes today, along with X-Men: First Class and I loved it just as much the second time as I did the first. Although I was a little dissapointed in the Avengers featurette which was included as a ITunes Extra. I was hoping for some new info, but all it really was was just a couple quick quotes from Joss Whedon and a couple other people, and then the cast intros from Comic Con. It didn't say or show anything very informative. This was actually the first I've come across ITunes Extras, which are DVD extras now included with ITunes movies.

@CaptainCraig...of course Thor visiting other worlds sounds vague, they're still working on the script and don't want to give anything away yet. This of course could change after they get a director.

I went to see Kenneth Branagh in the opening night of a play last Friday (he was brilliant incidentally). We left after the show, but apparently he and the cast came out and mingled with the audience in the bar afterwards. I'd have liked to ask him why he didn't return for Thor 2. But I agree that the apparent choice of Patty Jenkins is another pleasingly left-field one.
