Thor get a new director

It could be, but he's a pretty good actor, too. And his character was fairly intense.

Besides, how is picking an American Gladiator to play a superhero "thinking outside the box?"

I was judt going on looks. The guy looks like Thor. I have no idea if he can act or not.
But as an initial matter, the actor should look like the character.

Ooh, Brian Blessed as Odin.
That was my first thought, too. :D

This is really great news. Kenneth Branagh's always been one of my favorite directors, and the fact that Marvel is even entertaining the thought of him directing Thor just shows what a big impact outside-the-box picks like Favreau and Nolan have made on the studios' thinking.

i assure it is not envy or latent homo-eroticism on part at all.

i looked at the pic that was linked and it seriously look like fugly porn star with tits to me.

All that guy has going for him is some ridiculous looking long blond hair and muscles. He looks nothing like Thor.

I could see Karl Urban, from the Lord of the Rings movies and the new McCoy in Star Trek, as Thor. He's got the stature and the presence to play a warrior like Thor, but he's also down-to-Earth enough to make the character real, which I'm not sure Triple-H could pull off.

qft.
