Thor 2 -Movie Discussion, News, Interviews, Pics till release 2013

The ether appears often as stones.

GFY Odin.

When they say Ether, all I can think of is Hunter S Thompson soaking his bath towels in ether, then leaving them down by the pedals of his car as theyn Burn through baker on their way to Las Vegas.

I enjoyed it.
Good humor, nice action scenes and a few genuinely surprising twists with extra twists.

Now, bridge the waiting time for Captain America with Agents of Shields which should get a lot of new story material from this.
With all those portals and wormholes I'd be really surprised if nothing came through that Shield has to deal with occasionally. The big Frost Giant dog hinted at that.

I dislike the different release dates. Why do I have to wait until November 8th?

If you go back a decade or so ago, it would be those outside of the USA waiting weeks or months for a film to be released in their country.

Now you know how they felt.

Sure the ideal solution would be to release it globally on the same day. But alas that doesn't happen that often, due to a vareity of factors, studios piucking a release date in a country due to some public holiday or school holidays or another studio has a big release planned for that date etc...

Except that he's talking about American made movies being released overseas first, in truth how many British movies are released here before over there?

Why isn't there a proper review and discussion thread yet? It's been out over a week.

(I saw it today it was lots of fun!)

The film is pretty entertaining.

Too bad about the soundtrack. Brian Tyler didn't feel like repeating the original Thor theme and replaced it with something a lot more mediocre.

And I imagined Tony Stark watching the news about London, getting a heart attack.

Well Thor: The Dark World was certainly an American finaced film, and whilst it had an American director, prinicpal filiming was in the UK so it would be accurate to say it was largely British made.

But as I said sometimes a film is released around a specific date to coincide with a holiday, in the case of Thor: The Dark World it was released in the UK during half-term for schools. The studio no doubt wanted to maximise it's potential takings. After all a film can take the largest percentage of it's total takings in the first week or so.

The studios must feel it is more profitable to release certain films the way they do i.e. some out in say the UK before the USA or they wouldn't do it. What might be happening is that it is increasing the revenue earned from those markets without negatively impacting on the US box office earnings.

Saw those the other day. They were making a big deal about her "no underwear" dress and how you could see this or that at certain angles.

Calibre? She remembers lines and slays cgi muppets.

Classless? I think she was told that the opposite would be the truth by people who think they understand fashion.

Right or wrong, the industry word would be "daring".

The other word would be "free".

Semifamous people are given dresses to wear to these things because they're walking billboards.

The convergence of the 9 realms was a bit disappointing. It was just a bunch of discs surrounded by clouds giving a view into the other realm. I expected something more exciting.
