Not necessarily. There are books in the main novel continuity that reference elements from books that are now out of continuity -- like all the Final Reflection nods that KRAD and other writers (not to mention Ron Moore in DS9) have incorporated into their Klingon tales, or Diane Duane's Janice Kerasus character showing up in an SCE story.

Ah, I didn't think about that. Maybe I should say that it's likely that they could be in the continuity then, if there's nothing that's contradictory in the stories.

Thomas Riker appears prominently as a Captain of a Star Fleet surplus communications tender.

I also include the character Valeris, from the Star Trek Movie "The Undiscovered Country".

I hope you like my take on both of these, I thought interesting characters.

It seems the books have been all over the place with Thomas. There was a comic or two with him too. I'd love for him to pop up post Nemesis so we could get the 'official' story.

Well I don't know why no one has come out and said this yet, but Thomas Riker was confirmed to be alive and mostly well in last year's The Fall - The Poisoned Chalice and The Fall - Peaceable Kingdoms.
