This year's first snow....

Re: Wells Fargo in a Blizzard

I'm almost glad not to be in the Quad Cities anymore. It's gonna be crappy.

The storm is supposed to swing north by the time it reaches me, so I might not see much of it at all.

there hasn't really been any snow here yet . . . usually we have a couple inches on the ground by this time of year

I live in Syracuse which might as well be called Snowracuse :D

Yeah, I think Syracuse beat Buffalo for total snow fall last year. I think you guys got 100 inches or so, while we were still in the mid nineties.

Our first snow fall was last week. Got about 2 inches, and it was gone by the afternoon. I'd like to get some snow soon. Although it makes it harder to go outside for some target practice, and it's a bitch to clear off the driveway, it does mak for awfully romantic walks...nothing like walking in a light snowfall...:adore:

Syracuse holds the title of the snowiest metro area in the US
that's not to say we get the most snow, but still . . . we know snow :D

I have a friend that moved up here from Florida and I can't wait to hear her reaction to what a 'real' winter is like :D

the kid's movie Snow Day was set in Syracuse, but wasn't filmed here because there wasn't enough snow at the time
it would have been great if they actually filmed here :D

If Syracuse is the snowiest metro, then Minneapolis/St. Paul has got to be the coldest metro area! It's snowing right now, and I think our high temp. for tomorrow will be 10 F. Brrr!!!

Re: Wells Fargo in a Blizzard

We're already under about three inches. Eleven more to go.

Big storm tomorrow but mostly rain here. I'm really not quite ready for snow yet, anyway. Its going to get us and it's going to SUCK (as in digging out two cars at 5am before work) so the longer it rains on us this winter the happier I will be :p.!.

Re: Wells Fargo in a Blizzard

It's going to be 76 here in Florida tomorrow. :D

It's coming down pretty heavy here, though I don't think we're supposed to get more than seven or so. It's gorgeous outside right now. I love the winter! :)

Re: Wells Fargo in a Blizzard

I'm gonna merge this with the 'First Snow' thread. Hold on to your butts.

Latest National Weather Service estimates are now up to eighteen inches.

4-8 inches of snow, followed by sleet, then rain. I'm hoping for no school tomorrow. My college hasn't had any snow days since I've been here but... here's hoping.

Timby I love your avatar!

;)

We had our first snow in Northern Virginia on Saturday. Yuck. It didn't stick much, but it was about two inches. Fine with me- I suffered three hellish winters when I lived in South Dakota.

The snow from last Friday is still on the ground. Probably around ~8in worth. It is also -20C. That snow ain't goin' nowhere. If we're really lucky, it might get just warm enough in direct sunlight next week for the top layer of it to melt and then refreeze to treacherous ice.

Less then 2 weeks and I'm out of this frozen icicle of a country for the holidays. I can't wait to bask in the balmy, slightly above freezing NYC weather!

Snowing lightly again this morning. We're supposed to get a bit of light rain this afternoon, but I hope not or it might get a bit messy.
