Doesn't mean you can't buy a smaller but still profitable franchise. I'd rather have a company with SCI FI experience take over when MGM goes totally bust.

I think where Atlantis ended was a fine ending. However didn't Sci-fi Channel want a movie? If they still want it in the future they can easily get one. It's not like the actors have anything better to do.

Its not down to sci-fi its down to MGM or who ever ends up with the stargate rights once MGM is sold off.
I think the Atlantis movie is just going to get lost in the fall out from the MGM mess.

Why not? They can reboot the shit out of it and maybe come up with something decent on TV and movies. I still think it's a kickass premise that has never, in the decade-plus it's been active, been fully capitalized on. And most of the good content for the premise was created by the TV series (really, by SG-1 early on).

Stargate is tied with Heroes as Potentially Kick-ass Premise Most in Need of Competent Writers.
