Think Politicians get too many special priviliges?

Well, that's not always the case...

He's a heartbeat away from the presidency, but that apparently didn't help Joe Biden get a movie ticket Saturday night.

Employees at the Regal Brandywine Cinemas say the vice president-elect and his wife, Jill, tried to attend the 7:45 showing of "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" at the theater on Concord Pike but left after they were told the movie was sold out.

The Universe might have actually done Joe a favor. No man should be dragged to the theater to watch a chick flick UNLESS he knows that he will be getting some later.

You're missing out if you think Benjamin Button is a chick flick.

Yeah, BB, not a chick flick.

Its a movie with a message for the young more than anything else.

The advertising had me thinking it was another of those tear-jerkers with a popular movie star, which means 'chick flick' to me. I might watch it when it becomes available on DVD.

Somebody needs to tell Joe that you can buy movie tickets in advance now.

Aww, poor Joey Biden couldnt see a movie.

What a frakking farce. You are telling me the VP-Elect of the world's greatest republic is going to a movie at a public theatre?? This guy not only has more $$ in his wallet than I have shit in my septic tank, he has a battalion of Secret Service following his ever move.

Give me a break!

He's like one of the least wealthiest senators, commuted to work in DC on the train daily from his modest home in Delaware and hangs out at the Home Depot on weekends.

Well once he's in the White House, he'll get that private theater where they can get movies in advance. And although people who watch movies there are just as messy and loud when it comes to the snacks, the Secret Service will shoot them if they bring in crying babies or talk on their cell phones.

Now that is just further incentive to run for President when I reach the eligible age of 35.

BTW, I love your avatar.

i'm suprised that W. Bush didn't see advanced screenings of every summer movie for the past 8 years and spoiled the endings to every one of them before they were released

The best quote comes at the end of the article:

"It didn't seem many people recognized him," said employee Becky Gingrich, 21. "Honestly, I think people were just too wrapped up in themselves to notice."

Ah, subtle critiques on modern culture crop up everywhere. :)

If I were there I would have gladly given him my tickets. I would consider the fact that I got to meet him and shake his hand to be worth the price.

Nope... Actually, Joe Biden has no assets at all. His net worth is reported as somewhere between $100K - $150K and the only reason he has that is because of the positive equity in his home. He'd be half a million to a million in the red without it.

To put this in perspective, my net writh is 5 times what his (and if I die, it doubles for my wife because of my insurance policy)... and I'm 33. I don't know what Joe's been doing with his money all of these years but thank God he was picked for VP and not Secretary of Treasury.

His net worth at his age with his stature is a flippin' joke.

Not for nothing, but this information about his wealht (or lack therof) is old news. I mean it's kind of odd when all of you assume he's loaded and you've obviously got the Internet at your fingertips to do research before you post assumptions.

Some people just get insanely jealous of others who are more successful then they are, and define money as success.

I didn't think he was rich, I just assume that his political stature would get him in for free. He is, after all, the VP-elect.

When he actually takes office his whole family will probably get their own theater. :p
