Things we only realized later about DS9

Maybe at least do no harm. Don't show the Borg that tasty young Federation with some interesting tech that's right over there in the galaxy.

Despite all his capricious and sometimes cruel games, I don't think Q was ill disposed towards humans. He rendered them a service by giving them an early warning on the Borg. More in general, he learned Picard some important lessons, not just in Q Who but also in episodes such as Tapestry. I like to think Picard became a better version of himself partly in thanks to such experiences. At the very least, S7 Picard seems a nicer and less pompous version of his S1 counterpart.

(Not talking about Picard since I haven't seen Q in that series yet).

Didn't the Borg already know?

Also, wouldn't the Borg be a force of nature? So why would the Continuum stop this.if they wouldn't prevent a supernova? What obligation do they have?

No, just irreverent and rude.

I think Q was only interested in Picard. Humans seemed to interest Q because they either surprised them or they know what potential humans have. Perhaps humans evolve into Q.

Apollo wasn't as powerful as Q. The Enterprise defeated Apollo just by phasering the temple that was his power source. I don't think that would have worked on Q.

Maybe.

What if some of the Q evolved from the species that were Apollo's original kind. That they got to a point that they no longered needed a power source like the temple? That Apollo hadn't heard from them and thought them gone but they had moved up in power to a new plane?

Yes, he did. I wasn't sure exactly how to take it though. Were they effectively dead? Or just giving up being the pantheon for the Greek world?

Kirk should have introduced Apollo to the Platonians in "Plato's Stepchildren."

Interesting idea, but I think that would only have led to trouble. Possibly with the Platonians(?) being destroyed

Well, we still don't quite know why Q told his son: 'If the Continuum's told you once, they've told you a thousand times. Don't provoke the Borg!'

That might indicate they're not entirely invulnerable to 'lower' species. Of course, there might also be no danger to them, but simply be because of the mess the Q have to clean up for other species after one of them slipped up with the Borg.

I don’t think the Q would be effected by the Borg, not even in their human form ( couldn’t they just snap the heir fingers or wave their hands and remove all Borg nano probes and implants?).
But rather, I believe that the trouble that they would cause to other “lesser” species, would be more trouble than the majority of Q wants to deal with.
Perhaps the Borg fullfill some strange need or purpose we are not aware of???

How bad season 1 was.

I was so happy there were more Trek shows coming and several standout episodes were SO good, I kind of gave it pass.

In retrospect, it's the worst franchise first season ever...Yes, worse than TNG!
I don't think thart season 1 was bad.

It was decent, but no top season. As it was, I saw DS9 then as a spin-off to TNG but not so much more.

I remember that the channel in my area which aired it dropped it after one season. It took me many years before I had the oppportunity to watch the whole series.

If I had known back then how good it turned out to be, I would have bought every single VHS tape with the series back then to watch it. Instead it took me years to finally watch it and realize how great this serie is.

As for season 1, there were many good episoeds in it.
Duet for example. A masterpiece!
