Things that frustrate us all

This story of frustration involves three people:

1. A city worker.
2. A homeless veteran with approximately fifteen years of service who sleeps behind a dumpster and is poor.
3. A shitbag "homeless" girl who steals his food, steals property from other properties, steals Frisbees, stole some dudes underwear, sleeps inside people's houses if they leave the doors unlocked and are not home, and thinks dogs are talking to her (you should have heard the insane cursed-filled ranting and raving she did one day). And she's trading food stamps for rent, on at least three properties, but pretends to be poor and gets about a thousand dollars or more each week from people bringing her money (and food, and cloths, etc.). They ignore the homeless veteran; when he brought it up once, that other people are struggling and need help, he was told to go fuck himself. When caught going threw somebody else's stuff and told to stop, she threatened to beat up the person, cursed him out, and said, "I can do whatever I want!"

She hangs around a local park. The city wants her out the park, but she's allowed to be there during opening hours. One of them came and bitched to the homeless veteran about her, telling him he has to make her go, but he doesn't know her, she does as she pleases, she just hangs around him, steals his food, and treats him like garbage.

So, nearby there is private property owned by a person, whom he has permission to store his stuff on. the city worker knew his stuff was there. When the veteran said he can't do anything about her, the city worker said he needed to bag his stuff up and remove it from the private property. He told the city worker he has permission from the property owner. The city worker didn't give a shit. The veteran said he's come back and remove it later when it's dark. He came back, found all his stuff gone -- the city worker came back and stole all his stuff. Cloths, personal items, 95% of his food, a tarp, just fucking stole it all.

The ice maker in the freezer. We had a little bit of a cold snap here, plus crews working on the water and drainage/sewage pipes, and that affects the water pressure. So, there are times where the ice maker makes little to no ice. Plus, since my mother and I moved to our current place, I have to turn the on/off switch on the ice maker off for about 10-30 seconds and then back on every three days because it'll stop making ice after about 3 days.

I want to ask the folks living in the Americas something.

Are Central America and the Caribbean part of North America or South America ?

The entire western hemisphere is known as the Americas, and North and South America are subcontinents.

I consider everything north of the Panama Canal (including most of the islands in the Caribbean) to be in the subcontinent of North America and Panama Canal south to be in the subcontinent of South America. Some of the islands in the Caribbean near the coast of South America, that are a part of a South American country being South American. But that is just my opinion.

aaargh!!

Surely you had an argh!-moment, too, today. Share and vent with us! :D

In the market I encountered 3 people with eye-searing awfully neon coloured sports shoes within 20 seconds. (Plus an ad for said shoes here on the BBS just now.) I think I'll have to make an appointment with my eye-doc as that colour almost rendered me blind.
Is this the newest fashion? (Nooo! Please!!!!) It's almost worse than those horrible baggy pants.
Interesting. Where was this?

We got a guy here, fat -- got a pot belly -- who wears pinks sports shoes. Black male, wears black, and bang -- bright pinks sports shoes. Awful looking. And then he pulls up his shirt to expose his jiggly pot belly like we all have to see that.

Bright pink shoes on pretty girl = okay. Him...

Not really frustrated because you can always buy from elsewhere, but Amazon isn't allowing you to check out right now. You get the Error 500 "SORRY, something went wrong on our end" page with pictures of different animals on it.

Still having foot problems. It's getting better but still acts up from time to time. I'm supposed to go to an interview at a grocery store. Not sure if I'll be able to stand for that long, but I really, REALLY need a job. Maybe if it's just part time, it won't be too bad because I'll have days off to recuperate.

Assuming I even get the job. I might be too old. We'll see.

I had foot issues as well for years. I ended up having to get 3 surgeries the past year for it, and one of them had to be done over twice since it wasn't done right the first time.

Yikes! That's awful.
Actually, it gets worse. I made a mistake in what I posted, it had to be done over three times, not twice. The first time I went to the doctors about it was 2 years ago. No insurance. I was screwed and I had to pay a stupid for them to look at it for a minute and tell me everything I already knew. I had a surgery weeks later. I was going to have another one with that doctor, and they claimed I showed up late, when I wasn't. That infuriated me beyond belief.

Then I saw another doctor. This doctor did the surgery I wanted. Then that surgery failed (after the previous, same exact surgery on the same area was already done). Then I went and saw another doctor, and finally it was done correctly. So third time's the charm, and that doctor did another surgery I needed on another area.

Problem is with these doctors I have encountered, none of them truly cared about the issue I had. It was just a dry, stale experience with someone who didn't care about my perspective on the issue, and I had to emphasize what I wanted done, as I had done my research, to know what needed to be done, when the doctors themselves seemed like they wanted to just let it go.

I got what I wanted after a year and a half. In a civilized, and proper medical system it would have been done the first day right the first time and I would have walked out of there having everything I needed to have done. But here in the US of A, they string you along to get money out of you, and they couldn't care less about you.

The pronoun ter in Artificial Condition (Murderbot Diaries #2). It keeps pulling me out of the narrative. It's jarring. I'm not sure what it's expected to accomplish.

I'm afraid that most of us in this country have had similar experiences. I'm glad your issue was finally resolved.

If it is plantar fasciitis pain, then I have found this guy's videos to help relieve pain the most. Especially the wall exercise to stretch the calf muscles.
