Things that frustrate us all

Away from home dogsitting. I have managed to log out the house from Disney+. Naturally, I can't do anything about this.

The dogs are completely unsympathetic. They don't care why I am sitting down so long as they can sit on me
Ours are like that sometimes but they choose the most awkward moments to do it

I don't like being behind a large vehicle on the freeway when it's slow because I can't see what's going on up ahead, because sometimes there is no traffic at all. Like today, the vehicle in front of the large vehicle in front of me was going like 40 with nothing in front of it!
You must have been driving in Oklahoma.

Finally got X-rays last week for my foot that's been hurting since August. They found two bone spurs --one on the bottom of my heel and one under the tendon.

But the only appointment with the doctor isn't until the Thursday after next.

So...more waiting.

Also got all rejections on all my latest job applications.

Again, more waiting.

Security theater

They put up a row of metal booths at the train station that look like they could trap you if you had weapons and it looks ghastly and intimidating..

Every time there is some kind of "disclosure", the result reminds me of The Amazing Jonathan's spoon bending trick and in the end we get another useless bent spoon.

I wish the stories that I work on didn't fall apart. In another subject, I wish people would take the fact that I can't cut 2 inches (the measurement) by 17 3/4 inch long off a 2'x2' board accurately on a panel saw/radial saw that simply isn't built for it.

Organizing a student conference.
We clearly state everywhere that applications are only accepted through the official conference website and that the research summary should not exceed 3000 characters. The application form itself reflects this, the summary field is limited to 3000 characters and gives an automatic warning if anyone tries to enter more. Yet we keep receiving summaries via email that are well over the limit, often accompanied by complaints that our form wouldn’t let them submit it.
Our participants have little to no experience with academic events, these first steps can be overwhelming, so I don't have a lot of issues with them. But it does make me wonder: what exactly are their supervisors doing? Shouldn’t they be guiding their students and helping them understand the importance of following basic submission guidelines?

Frustrate doesn't cover this, disgust might do. It is utterly appalling.

For those outside the UK that may not know but James Bulger was murdered in one of the most horrific crimes when he was abducted, tortured and murdered. That anyone could vandalise his grave is purely disgusting, no words.

A lot of people today show almost zero respect for things like graves or places of respect anymore.
