Things that frustrate us all

It's not usually that crowded, except when there's a big Creighton game going on (Creighton University is just a few miles away). Then Bluejays fans take over the place.

Oh, and on an unrelated matter: That fucking "dollop of Daisy" jingle (from the sour cream commercial) may just be the most annoying song ever written. Whoever wrote it should face some kind of penalty, such as death.

Yes, that seems like a very reasonable and measured response to *checks notes* making a song you don't like.

Worked in the yard for hours after working a full shift. Cut down monster -plant in front yard; no one knows what the hell it is. The tree/shrub took over half the front plant bed and then died in the winter freeze. I finally cut it all down, and there is new growth at the base. The roots feel like they are sunk into concrete -- or China -- so I left it there. If it grows like mad again, it will have plenty of room. Took out dead Bottlebrush plant with hubby's help.I was sad it died but it wasn't worth getting another one if another freeze would just kill it again. So I bought a couple of roses that are supposed to be really resilient. Planted them by the garage.

THEN... Hubby tells me that he spread weed & feed so I had to water it in.

OTOH, this is actually very measured. I admire your restraint. I probably would have told him what he could do with the hose.

Anyone else notice this: For the past couple days, every single ad on YouTube was non-skippable. :censored:

I do live alone, and I NEVER cook. I don't even have an oven.

I mean, there are plenty of restaurants near my house. Why the hell should I bother?

Cost, for one. The known risks of the high sodium and fat content in pre-packaged and takeout food, for two. Three, the wastefulness. Need I go on?

And if you cook for yourself, you can always add a special piece of awesome to anything you want. And what is that special piece of awesome, you might be asking?

The answer is simple: BACON!!!

That's where DuckDuckGo comes in handy.

If you view YT videos with that browser, they pop up in a special 'Duck Player' which strips out all the ads.

Trust me, if I attempted to cook for myself, it'd bring only disaster.

True fact: Once I actually tried to make pudding from scratch - don't ask - and I somehow wound up with scrambled eggs in the mix. Pathetic, innit?

Not really. I've definitely done worse. It just takes time and practice.

People who assume it will end up in disaster will find disaster.

A lonnnnng time ago, I had a buddy who was trying to impress a girl by cooking her some spaghetti. I gave him exact directions on what do. He still ended up burning a pot.

Luckily, she appreciated the attempt, but man... when he told me that, I just shook my head.

It's not difficult to cook pasta... but I guess for some people, it is.

It's not just that I suck at cooking, I simply don't like to cook.

Except when my store used to sell SKYLINE CHILI  . If we did that again, I might reconsider...

It doesn't make things better for the pigs...

How do you burn a pot of spaghetti? I can barely make toast without burning it, but even I can make spaghetti.
My mom and I are starting to get frustrated with one of my older sisters. She keeps getting pets, but she barely takes care of them, and then the moment they become even the slightest bit inconvenient, she dumps then, usually on us before she moved. She had rats that literally tried to kill each other, and we eventually found out that it was because she was refusing to give them more food until they ate all of it, but the problem was half of what was in the food was filler that they don't eat, so they were practically starving. Once she got fed up and gave them to us, the never fought again. Practically every dog she had was constantly peeing and crapping in the house, and destroying it, but when we took care of them, and once she got tired of dealing with them and gave them to us permanently, they never did any of that. There were times were they were doing that stuff practically every day at her place for months, and then they'd stay with us for a week and never do it once.
She's living out of state now, and she just gave up her last dog because she was living in an apartment, and couldn't have it there, and we were actually happy, but now it looks like she might have gotten another one. :brickwall:
Her problem according to my mom, and she says it's the same way with my father's entire side of the family, is that she has absolutely no empathy at all. Which is a little ironic because I'm very empathetic, I felt guilty all day a when I spooked a horse a couple months ago on my bike ride.

For the longest time, I was trying to figure that out. I still don't know. I don't think I could do that on purpose, let alone by accident... especially after being given directions on how to cook it.

Fucking credit card thieves! Have to cancel both cards and go to the bank and get new ones and I'm fucking over it. Today has barely started and I'm already over it! :brickwall::klingon:

Had that happen to me last September with my card. Damned annoying. Two cards at once?! Wow... even more fucked up.

I hate thieves. Always have.
