OK, I have calmed down now. Hubby says he might be able to get data off the drives, especially since everything important to me was saved to the D drive and it looks like C is what took the hit. I have some documents saved to ONE, so I really just want my photos, music and some work stuff in Notepad. If those are safe, I can cope. I can lose all my games and be totally cool with it.
Also...kinda pissed that he told me everything was lost when it might not be.
With any luck, he can build me a new pc over the next day or two. Right now, I have one of his spare "blank" laptops from work hooked up to my large monitor and keyboard. *fingers crossed*

When I go to watch a movie trailer on Youtube... and it throws an ad in front of the video. A movie trailer is already an ad in and of itself. I don't need to watch a different ad first!

Yeah this shits me off........ Youtube recently changed its policy on ad blockers now it bypasses them

No I tried it last week Adblock no longer works with youtube and I checked my emails they did mention this in one of their recent emails that ad blockers would be disabled in the very near future.

Humm...I ain't seen it yet, but two of my buddies in Germany can not see certain youtube vids that I try to send them, I blame the EU and they blame Brexit. My bud in Wales can see them all. Curious...
I find the recent trend of putting a mini trailer for the trailer in front of the trailer to be one of the more bizarre marketing strategies I've seen lately. "Stay tuned for the trailer for X!"... yeah, I'm already "tuned" for that, since I deliberately clicked on this video specifically to see the trailer for X. I mean, really?

I don't harp on it because I understand that Youtube needs to get $ somehow, but if I could afford to buy stuff, advertisers, I'd buy the Youtube Red subscription that lets me skip your adds.
yesterday, my washing machine broke. The first load (not so dirty) went well but during the second load (very dirty gardening clothes) the machine gave up. It still washes, only it doesn't spin anymore. I suspect the motor needs new carbon brushes again. IIrc the last exchange was 8 or 9 years ago.

Today the email account I use for most of my online registrations for things so it gets all the junkmail went down for hours. At the exact time I was trying to reset my bank password because the password I thought it was is wrong, because I need to check my checking account balance to make sure it currently has enough without transferring more into it. And it's still down.
Hubby finally got my computer working again but now my favorite Steam game won't work anymore. 
There is some weird flaw in the program. In another game, it erased all my achievements.
Very bummed out, but at least I have my computer back.

congratulations! Since at first it looked like you lost the whole drive, losing only the high scores is a moderate prize to pay. Is your Steam game still available online? Then you could reinstall it.
@JirinPanthosa : does it work again now? It's so utterly frustrating when the server is down the moment you need it urgently. For some reason, servers are never offline when you don't need them. I therefore suspect they are run by Murphy-onic field drives. Just like ATMs, camera and car batteries, freezers and washing machines.

Reinstalled and it still doesn't work--checked community boards to see if anyone had a fix---there was nothing. It still doesn't work. Very bummed out. After being without my computer for a few days, I was looking forward to playing my games. Darn it. I guess I will have to look for some new cheap games.
Another minor frustration--I was scheduled to work all next week and was wondering where I could find time to go to the gym. Then I found out that my Monday shift was canceled--great! Now I can go to the gym on Monday. But, of course, the gym is closed on Monday for the holiday. I'll have to squeeze in an evening workout now, and I hate that.
PS...I did get my achievements back in other game, so that was nice.

My neighbors are getting their roof replaced and the workers started at 8 am. Ugh.
Having had my car in the shop two times in as many weeks (first was for body work, the second for a repair due to recall), I have had two different rental cars lately, and they both had a thing which I did not know how to disable, but which pissed me off to no end:
THEY SHUT DOWN THE FUCKING ENGINE WHEN YOU PRESS THE BRAKE.
Seriously, whoever invented this stupid idea should be beaten like a rented mule. I don't care if they say it's to save the fucking environment or reduce fuel consumption or anything like that. The car SHUTS.OFF.THE.ENGINE.
I mean, imagine being stuck in traffic and trying to get going again, but the engine won't turn back on. That sound like a good idea to anyone? Thought not
