Things that frustrate us all

Having a very bad day. Woke up to find my much-loved Kindle Fire had died. I played games on it, read books, surfed the net-- basically everything to help fill my otherwise empty days. Now it's dead and I certainly can't afford another.

Then I had a routine medical appointment but got there way earlier than I had planned, and while waiting, saw the news that Paul Darrow had died. I almost cried right there in the waiting room. To top it all off, I got stuck in a traffic jam on the way home, adding an extra 20/30 minutes to the drive home.

*sigh*

I cannot find my mother' sewing machine. It's a very nice model, but is in need of a minor re

I'm sorry. (((Hugs)))

Sorry to hear that. :(

What the hell is the point of beer with no alcohol?

Nobody drinks that stuff for the taste, they drink it for the BUZZ. (Same applies to coffee.) So without the buzz, what's the point?

There is no point. They’re not nice, and yet, occasionally. I mean. They look like beer, with colour and the froth, and the bitter taste doesn’t grow sickly in the way other soft drinks do. But yes. They don’t even quench a thirst and they’re not remotely refreshing.

That said, I’ll be having another one soon. It’s too early for the herbal night tea.

We don't have anything called rootbeer here so I have no idea what it tastes like. Do all Americans drink rootbeer at some point in their lives. What is it made of?

I drink beer, coffee, liquor, etc. for the taste, as well as the whole culinary experience of color, mouthfeel, and finish. I savor the beverage, I take notes, I make comparisons, etc.

I believe root beer as we know it was developed in North American colonial times. It traditionally uses a sweet syrup base made from roots and herbs. It could include sassafras (though not so common these days as I've detailed elsewhere), sarsaparilla, birch or spruce bark, wintergreen, anise, and/or other botanicals.

Is it too much to ask that the brand new bottle of tonic water NOT immediately explode in my face upon opening?

I buy a brand of flavored waters that if you walk from one side of a room to another with one of the flavors it will explode! I always need to be very, very careful when opening that flavor.

Having to switch from the late shift to the early shift.

Fuck, I'm tired.

Instead of starting work at 10:30, I now have to start at 7:30 am... but work is rare these days, so I only have get up early on certain days. That kinda makes it worse because Hubby's schedule is usually a late shift. So most of the time, I'll be getting up at 9/10 am but sometimes I'll have to be up before 7 am.

And hubby has an eye procedure tomorrow morning, so we have to be up at 5:30 am .

That sucks. I hope the eye procedure goes well.

A new problem that I never had to worry about before before my hair grew longer. Blowing one’s nose when outside on a windy day with only one free hand.
