Things that frustrate us all

I bought a bag of apples from the grocery store a few weeks ago. The apples were beautiful on the outside but the insides were all half-rotten.
^ewww. I hate that.
My frustration:
I'm leaving town for a week, on Monday, and returning late next Friday night. Hubby just let me know that he's invited his friends over for a gaming party, next Saturday--starting at 11 am. Argh . So I'll have to get up early, tidy up and vaccum, set out food, etc before they arrive.

He works 12 hrs a day, so isn't home to do anything, and also thinks that he shouldn't have to clean up the house for guests or feed his guests.

I hope you at least have a nice trip. Maybe something could delay your return for a day...hmm?^ewww. I hate that.

Walmart sucks. Went up to go get a promo Bulbasaur card and a Detective Pikachu poster today and found out that my local one isn't participating. Not surprised either... since they seem to be a rather self-serving store.

@auntiehill: you might want to remind your hubby that he swore to share good and bad things with you. If he's sharing his friends' company with you he ought to also take a share in the preparations (and much a larger share than just to hand them invitations). How about taking revenge by inviting a dozen of lady friends he can't stand?

grrr! I mislayed a referral from my GP to an orthopedist. I spent all weekend searching for it. Shall have to get a new one tomorrow and I bet the missing one will resurface first thing on Tuesday.
It's basically just a variation on the - rather widespread - shopping list prob: you write a list so as to not forget anything, and then you promptly forget the darned list at home.

Doesn't your doc automatically email it to the orthopedist? If not, can't they just email a copy to you?
Unfortunately, over here you have to personally hand in the original. It must be stamped and signed by the receiving doctor. As it counts as a legal document, the original is required and a copy or printout wouldn't count. Rules over here are rather strict in order to prevent misuse and also for reasons of data protection. (The patient decides whether the GP gets informed about the result of the consultation at all.) Also, as in Germany you have a perfectly free choice of doctors, the GP wouldn't know where to send it.
In this case I was lucky enough to get an appointment tomorrow morning with an orthopedist only 3 houses further up the lane =) I had a little accident and pinched a nerve between 2 slipped vertebrae.

My frustration:
Measuring to create a CG model of my house so I can plan future improvements.
I'm finding that once I model the dimensions I'm coming up with using a tape measure doesn't work at all in some areas. This house is not quite the Dr. Suess house two doors down from us that we were looking at when we found this house, but it's still wonky as hell!
Hopeful hall improvements (new doors, trim, paint, and closet storage I'd posted about in another thread. I'd also like to replace my cheap, cheap flooring with something of quality with the same look.):

Interesting to hear how things work in other parts of the world. I've been referred to many, many specialists over the years... and I don't think I've ever actually seen a single one of the referral letters. Of course, here they refer you to a specific doctor, so if you actually get to choose one, I guess that would be different. (Under most circumstances here, you can't just contact a specialist you've never seen before and make an appointment... the appointment request has to have come from a referring physician's office.)
