Things that frustrate us all

When the stuff you ordered on a snack vending machine in the gym gets stuck before you can get it out of the output compartment and you have to ask one of the staff to open the machine to get it out for you.....

Most of the vending machines around here are managed and stocked by outside vendors so there is next-to-no-chance of getting someone on-site to assist you in getting your deserved snack.

Still don't have my serial number, but I sure have gotten a lot of sale messages from them in the last few days! 10% off of downloads! Woohoo! How about letting me friggin' use the software I've already paid for!

So essentially your money is gone when something is stuck.....:wtf:. I got my snack at least in the end.....

Yup. Every once in a while there is a little envelope where you can request a refund, but I haven't seen one for a long, long time.

I hear beer commercials are a big thing in your countries (Canada, USA, UK). In mine, you can't advertise for alcohol or tobacco.

Cigarette ads were banned down here too, quite some time ago in fact.

I honestly don't know why tobacco can't be advertised but alcohol can.

This is specific to Canada only, but you may be amused at all the restrictions on alcohol advertising in the CRTC's Code for Broadcast Advertising of Alcoholic Beverages. The restriction on showing consumption is paragraph (q), the last one on the list.

Another interesting alcohol-related fact: my province banned the so-called "happy hour" many years ago. A little over a decade ago, they lifted the ban, so bars can have "happy hours" again... but they are not allowed to call it that, and they are not allowed to advertise cheap drinks.

I started to file a claim to have my phone replaced because my screen is now giving me little cuts when I scroll on it (has fallen out of my pocket a lot lately). When I got to the deductible page of the claim process, I found out it was going to be $99. My mom suggested I check with Batteries Plus. As soon as I heard that name, I agreed to check but knew I'd be amused at the results.

They want $69.99 for the back glass (mine is shot) and when I called to ask about the front glass (screen is fine, but the glass is cracked), they told me, after some checking, that it would be an additional $279.99. Hahahahahahahaha!

So I've completed my protection plan claim. Not sure when I'll get my new (refurb) phone, but I'm hoping it'll be Monday or Tuesday. They say they'll ship Next-Day Air, when available, but I'm not sure when they'll be shipping.

The change to summer time, an hour less sleep. :(

When you're in a hurry and you keep crossing path with people who think it's a good time to strike up a conversation, so you have to be slightly rude to them in order to stay in business!!!
