Things that frustrate us all

Screw Walmart. This is way over stepping their bounds. :censored: :scream:

Walmart was granted a patent this week for a new listening system for its retail stores that, if ever deployed, may make some employees and shoppers uncomfortable. According to the filing and claims, it’s “an example system for capturing and analyzing sounds in a shopping facility.” In other words, it’s a kind of surveillance system.

For example, this proposed listening system would be able to detect the rustling of shopping bags and the beeps at a register. Walmart could use this tech as an anti-theft solution to find out if number of items in a transaction and number of bags used checks out. It sounds like a reasonable application of technology in a major retail store, right?

WALMART WOULD BE ABLE TO EAVESDROP ON SHOPPER’S CONVERSATIONS
That’s where the intrigue stops and the anxiety begins. The system wouldn’t just be an anti-theft tool, but a way to also monitor employee interactions with customers and possibly monitor what customers are saying in real time about products. “Additionally, the sound sensors can capture audio of conversations between guests and an employee stationed at the terminal,” the patent reads. “The system can process the audio of the conversation to determine whether the employee stationed at the terminal is greeting guests.”

When people throw their trash (candy paper, cigarette packs...) a couple of meters away from a public trashcan!!! That has to be the apex of assholishness!

People can be lazy, you can't expect them to walk an extra few steps.

No doubt they are the same people who throw their cigarette stubs out the car window rather than into the cars ashtray,

We waited in a car queue for 45 minutes yesterday. I live in a medium sized city but the traffic situation this Christmas is like in the capital city.

I suspect most of us finding sitting in a queue of cars frustrating, I was sat in a queue for long than needed at one point the road widens to two lanes just before a junction with two lanes for turning left and one lane for straight ahead and right, everyone who wanted to go left stayed in the one lane rather than using both lanes true the road does merge back to a single lane a few hundred metre's after turning left but if I were turning left I would have used the second lane and merged in. Saving myself time

Roundabouts are for more practical at moving traffic than an intersection.

The problem is a large proportion of drivers don't know how to use them.
Not really. They just clog up roads in my opinion.

Maybe, but even for those who know how to use them, they're not worth it. Been a passenger with my mom using a couple of them before (we've gotten familiar with them) and we still do not like them. In fact, we hate them.

Especially if they look like this. How the HELL is that thing supposed to work?
Word. That looks like a giant mess.

My only problem with roundabouts is when they are small radius, two lane and busy. Constantly you have to monitor whether the guy in the inner lane is turning out and they probably don’t signal.

For those of you Bostonians, yes I am talking specifically about Fresh Pond Parkway. Which pretty much EVERYONE DRIVING TO STOROUGH FROM SUBURBS NORTHWEST OF BOSTON HAS TO TAKE.

This may not frustrate us all but for me today, when you go to the pool for swim workout, you’re trying to do speed drills, and suddenly three other people get in the lane and treat it like it is an open swim lane instead of a lap lane.
