My deepest condolences. I too know that pain.
[AngryRant] Getting an appointment with my GP. Because of insurance, I have to do EVERYTHING through the GP. She sent me to other campus for tests, which proved I have a degenerative condition --so my chronic pain can't be fixed; it will only get worse. She sent me an email to tell me the test results and then says I need to come in right away to discuss pain management, although I don't want a prescription--I'm not big on taking pills--I might need the occasional shot b/c of joint damage. I call to make an appointment. The first available appointment is at 8 am ( I live 45 min/1 hr. from her office; yay) --23 days from the day I was diagnosed. Seriously? I got a referral appointment to the specialist just a few days from now but my GP, who I HAVE TO see b/c of insurance, can barely fit me in within a month.[/AngryRant]

To me, everything should be over-the-counter.
I have spoken to more people that doctors want to suffer. They want you in the pain clinic to keep charging you.
The best dentist is vodka and a pair or pliers as a side chaser.

Yikes. Your GP’s definition of “right away” is quite different from my own.
For me it’s usually the opposite. I can call my GP and usually get an appointment in the next day or two. It’s the specialists that I have to wait months for. Of course, I don’t actually *like* my GP, but that’s another story.
I hope things go well, once the appointment actually arrives.

In the same vein, I've been after my landlord for weeks to do something about the bird poop on the back property fence of my apartment building. All that really needs to be done is for someone to clean the fence every couple of weeks or so. I suppose I could borrow my downstairs neighbor's two cats and let them loose on the birds, but those cats have lived indoors all their lives and probably wouldn't know what to do with a bird if they saw one.
I've never seen a trap actually catch a mouse, but making sure there's no food sources helps.
One frustrating thing. Half the time you go to the grocery store looking to buy avacados, either all the avocados are so rock hard they won't be edible for another three weeks, or they're all so soft and brown they're disgusting.

I've used ground coffee for a very long time. I didn't know they still had coffee beans on retail...
The ground stuff in the supermarket is in very similar packaging to the beans, and on the same shelf and subject to the same offers.
I prefer to grind my own beans, but it’s really not practical.

As a kid, we (my parents and I) used to go to a coffee merchant that would grill the coffee beans before you in a big round machine that would stir the beans so I guess they would grill at the same time. I still have somewhere a little bag of ungrilled beans that the merchant gave me. We don't see that kind of thing anymore where I live.
