Things that frustrate us all

When your fast food place was 24 hours, isn't anymore and doesn't post their :censored::censored::censored: hours! I was in drive-thru hell last night!!

Been there, done that.

While it wasn't 24 hours, I didn't know what their hours were, and I was waiting at a fully-lit drive-thru order board for a good five minutes or so, calling out, "Hello?!?" several times (if you know this location, you'd understand why I waited that long). I finally drove up to the pickup window (all interior lights still fully on and a couple of employees wandering about) where they had their hours posted. I was half and hour too late.

Mine occurred this morning...I got four calls in a row from a number I didn't recognize. No messages. It was about 9am. Like, as soon as one ringing stopped, they called back again. Never left a message.

When the same guy (you recognize the voice plus the speech pattern) calls you several times for diverse commercial reasons and you end up hanging up before he says his second word and yet that doesn't seem to discourage him!!!

^ About 10 years back I worked in sales. We were taught to never listen to a “no, thank you” until they had said no at least three times. I didn’t stay long in that field!

Well, that guy must have followed a different course because I said "no" to him at least a dozen times, the last ones not very polite!

Apparently I’m special within my demographic, and consequently. Quite the catch. Because I don’t mind picking up sanitary towels while I’m at the supermarket. It’s s big deal for some men, I hear.

ETA: I won’t pick up shampoo though. Too complicated.

I don't see the big deal about buying certain products, the cashier's see hundreds of people each day and likely forget what most people buy.

There's some kind of irony in that... big, tough, military... nevermind. ;)

No offense, guys, because I love (some of) you and we couldn't exist without you, but sometimes I think you may be a different species than us women.

Well perhaps not a different species but perhaps come from a different planet. ;)

I've got a simple solution to that, if it's a telephone call after I've said "No thank you" or words to that effect if they try again I just hit disconnect. Face to face I just leave if they try the hard sell and I make sure I don't return.

My father died yesterday. Thank you all for your well-wishes. They may have helped him hold on a bit longer. He almost died on the 22nd which was my mother's birthday, Thanksgiving and the anniversary of when my dad proposed to my mom.

Gary, I just saw this today. My belated sympathies for your loss. Best wishes to you and your family.

I always assumed it was an owl,

I take it then that you've never clicked on it and seen the extra eyes? Granted, I don't know for sure what the owls are like in your part of the world, but.....

got my test results back. I have degeneration in my neck and arthritis in my right shoulder. :sigh: So I am being sent to an orthopedist and my GP wants me back to talk about pain management.

That's really rough, I'm sorry to hear that. I hope the doctors are able to help you out with keeping the pain under control.

I was about to go to bed (I'm tired) but I just received an email from the company that I subscribe to for software that I use and my payment was denied. Well, duh...I get paid the same date every month and I paid my initial payment on the 4th of the month, but since you have a 30-day subscription plan rather than a 1-month subscription plan, the payment due dates are slowly moving forward a day every other month. So now you're trying to charge on the 2nd. TF???

I have another company that I lease software from that does this exact same thing.

All other software that I subscribe to has 1-month subscriptions (well, I was going month-by-month with Max, but now I have a year prepaid because of their Black Friday sale).

Now I need to stay up for a little more than an hour to make sure this gets paid promptly (when my moolah is deposited).

When Windows 10 gets bogged down so badly that you can't close any windows and Ctl-Alt-Del takes minutes to respond.

Kor

I can't stand slow computer performances either. Especially when I have important work to do.
