Excuse my ignorance but what is a collective? Is it like house sharing??
I probably use the wrong word for it since english isn't my native language but, yes, it's like house sharing. We share the house and it's resources like food and such.
Sorry to hear this. Sounds really painful and needs antibiotics before it gets worse. Hope you can find some kind of treatment or relief.

About to embark on Day One of a third-shift job because I don't make enough money as a videographer. This'll be fun..

Overnight. 9:15 PM to 5:45 AM in my case. Just waking up now. I'm about to go back to bed again. I have to get my body used to this.
I know those. I did the occasional night shift in a warehouse. 22:30 through till 6am. Crazy.
Yup. A warehouse is where I am right now.
I did third shift before but it was a long time ago. I worked behind the counter at a Sunoco A-Plus in 2001-2002. The place was dead for most of the shift.
Not so lucky this time. I'm on the constant move with this one. But it shouldn't be too bad, once I adjust to the hours.

My night shift experience was a rather sedentary affair. I was admin suppprt, just in case it was needed, but it wasn’t.
Well, it's official. My hot water heater is toast. It's dead. It's so dead that not even a George Romero movie could bring it back. It is an EX-hot water heater.

A doctor's bill is still lower than the costs of a funeral. Go and see an MD about that asap. You risk not only losing the toe but also a lethal blood poisoning.
Seriousely, you're playing with your life there.
As a first aid take a foot bath in strong chamomile tea. It'll clean the wound and is a very potent antibiotic. For dressing the wound I recommend a gel plaster if you can get one that big. That's only an emergency measure, though, and will not substitute a proper medical treatment.
And if you need financial help, we can always help you with a bit here and there. Plus with so many people here from all the world it'd be surprising if nobody knew a trick how you have to pay less or can get some funds.

I think the cost of medications in the US is several times higher than in most developed countries. It's a racket!
