that sucks! Particularly if it happens somewhere in the wilderness, far away from a second spare tire.
Why is it that always in fall all streets get torn up simultaneousely? I tried a detour around a road repair site today only to find that that one was blocked due to road repair work. And the detour around the detour had the same poblem. It's time they finally invent beaming!
It's 2 degrees Celsius outside right now. I'm starting to feel the cold inside, so I decide, OK, it's time to turn the furnace on for the first time this season.
So of course... it won't start.![]()
*sends warm wishes* Can you get someone to mend it in the weekend? Many companies don't work in the weekends
Huge argh moment just now: my mom called and started a 6 volume novel length story. After vol 1 it turned out that our dog was found in the garden with a severe head wound. As you can imagine, I urged her to skip the other 5 volumes and come straight to the point: is he dead or alife, what is his prospect. I tried it 4 or 5 times and she still wouldn't stop babbling about how it happened. WHAT happened, damn it, and is he alife, yes or no?!!
So I called my dad on his cell. The dog is alife and well enough to bark at the postman (always a good sign). He injured himself when he ran into an old antenna my dad stored in a corner. He's going to recover but it was a close shave.

Congratulations! I hope your work crew will be as cheap, quick and efficient as the nice electrician who mended my oven on Friday.I was able to get a service appointment for Tuesday!![]()

Also, nobody will make or answer a call between 12:00 and 13:00 in my country since lunch time is practically sacred here. Pretty much like everything stops for tea in GB![]()
At least our place has an excuse for the calendar invite times as it's possibly including various Asian, European and US people.Yours must be a different GB to mine. Here everyone eats at their desk, nibbling at the lunch between emails. Lunch time meetings are not unheard of, but I always push back on those.
The NHS was the worst for meetings, it wasn’t unusual to see a calendar invite appear for 07:30 or 19:00, even though I worked 9-5.
Annoying indeed, but isn't it possible that they are just in an important meeting or on the phone with a client and therefore can't receive your call or chat? Don't know about the situation in your line of business but in mine the client always has priority. Even the Minister has to wait till I have time to answer his call.
