Things that frustrate us all

Gotta love laptops lol. Nothing like my dvd drive randomly opening up on its own. I think it was in part to my cord becoming unplugged. The screen dimmed a bit as well. Once I plugged it back in, it seems to have stopped it. Going to double check via a virus check though just to be sure.
mine too. So I can cross off 'possessed'. :)

Yea. Ended up doing a malware and spyware check and it came up ok. Thinking its related to the unplugging and/or Windows 10.

Public bathrooms. A door that doesn't latch, toilet paper missing, toilet paper left neatly applied to seat but I know it wasn't a courtesy to anyone but the original owner.
Can relate on this one. I remember when I was in high school when I had to use my backpack to keep the door closed. And add in lack of soap and a principal who said that people mis used it so they didn't have to refill it. Let her know that it's a public health violation to not refill them. She was a real piece of work.

My Windows 10 computer won't install updates. I can't figure out how to fix it at all, I've tried googling but no solutions work. So every day I wake up to find it's rebooted and everything's closed and I have my same error "unable to finish installing updates". Oh and I can't run anything in Administrator mode because my microsoft profile is corrupted or something, and even when I make new administrator accounts I still can't even run like command prompt in Admin mode, so I'm totally out of luck until I buy a new computer I guess.

I swore I'd never buy another laptop after my first one like fifteen years ago. Back then I thought laptops were just so amazing I had to have one, but now I just despise them, I feel they're so unreliable. I have mine for work, but really I just use it to remote access my real computer at my office, but I hate how I don't even have like a full keyboard, and I have to push like 3 buttons just to use my Home key.

Laptop problems make me think of my ex, back in I think 2015 I came home from picking up my father at the bus depot, I had to drive across the state because he was stranded at the border, and he's got his laptop out and he's sort of freaking out telling me "I had a virus, but don't worry Microsoft is helping me, I'm talking to him and he's fixing my computer", and I'm just screaming in my head "OH NO YOU IDIOT!" so I had him hang up, I had to force shut down his laptop while that guy was in there, and I managed to do a system restore and so lucky he didn't sign their digital receipt so I got the credit card charge reversed easily. They kept calling him for like a day or so asking for him to sign it but we told them off and not to call again.

How about a self-cleaning bathroom? :D

Oh my, I didn't realize some people actually believed those calls. (Although I guess they must, or it wouldn't be worth their while to keep doing them.) I'm glad you were able to save the computer.

Sorry about the Windows 10 problems, though. I haven't actually made the jump to 10 at home (although I'm using it at work).

My tablet has a virtual keyboard that doesn't agree with my favorite Board,
keeps winking in & out, and then autocorrects to nothinging resembling English..

:brickwall: :wah:

Slow drivers when driving conditions are as close to perfect as they can be. Hot sunny day, clear blue skies, no moisture on the road, high level of visibility

That's very weird. Try inquiring at "tenforums.com" It's a great site that has often helped me through Windows difficulties.

A lot of system correction methods you can try will require an Administrator account. You're able to create a new administrator account, but it won't act like it has administrator access? Or is it just some oddity of the "cmd.exe" program throwing an error when you try to run it?

I can make new accounts and do administrator-ish things, but if I like right click something and choose "Run as Admin", nothing happens. So some programs like my cmd where I need to run as admin for some things, I just can't do those. I've learned there are some ways I think I can force my updates through but not without admin mode. I've looked it up on google and people say this can happen if your microsoft sign in account is corrupted, but all microsoft will tell you to do is make yourself a new one. I've tried making new accounts and still nothing helps, so I really just don't know what to do any more. I've just learned to live with having to restart all my stuff every morning, lol.

Slow as in won't speed and drive like it's a video game or just flat out drive 30 in a 45? Because I drive the speed limit even on a dry sunny day. (okay I drive 5 over) Am I your nemesis? Sorry :/ ;)

On the flip side, I knew a young person who could not understand NOT driving the speed limit in a
standing fog.... This person died driving off a bridge in the fog... At the age of 20

Unfortunately people don't always drive to the prevailing conditions. I recall once driving in heavy fog and rain on the Motorway, I was doing 40mph (the speed limit being 70mph) because I felt that was the maximum safe speed I could do, still had idiots flying past me no doubt doing 70mph+

What ARE these people thinking? You are in control of a potentially lethal weapon, even to yourself.

Slow as doing 30-40mph in 50mph and 60mph zones.

Port-a-potties for long-term use.

We have a couple here at a local park. They're dirty. There's no trash can, so instead of doing the intelligent thing and waiting until you walk to a trash can -- and there are three of them in the park, strategically places at both end and one in the middle -- the idiots toss trash into the toilets (filled just enough with a blue liquid that has a good smell to last a week). Also, people steal the toilet paper.

The sign says not to.

But what's worse is how filthy they are. One of them has a sign in it saying they "Try Hard" to keep these units clean. I've witnessed the "Try Hard" cleaning multiple times; here's what it consists of:

* About ten seconds picking things up and leaving some toilet paper in there (usually shoved into a corner, so it warps the roll; since the holder is missing the bar and instead of replacing it, this is done).

* Less than ten seconds spraying down the seat and toilet area with some kind of cleaner, which is not wiped off. Nothing is wiped off.

* About fifteen seconds of using a wide-ish hose to suck the content up and replace it with new blue liquid.

If by "Hard" they mean NOT ALL ALL and doing the bare minimum required to make it barely passable, then yes, they "Try Hard".

Who said they were thinking, sure I like to drive at the speed limit but I'll drive slower when I have to because of heavy rain or fog, and even slower on the very rare occasions the white stuff falls I believe it is called snow. ;) Driving home from work once in snow even at 15mph (in a 60mph) I could feel my back end try to step out once or twice.

When it snows in the American South, people loose their minds...
