Things that frustrate us all

I see people crossing streets while texting. It drives me nuts. Sometimes I'll drive right up on them and they never even look up.

I really don't undertstand what the fuck it is about people and exits. Last week I'm leaving a grocery store and an somewhat elderly man in an electric cart provided by the store, STOPS in the exit area, blocking just about half of it, to play with some electronic device (maybe a phone).

Apparently the exits are going to have to be something along the lines of that episode of "The Simpsons" where you press a button and shock somebody. My finger is going to "slip" a lot. You might say I restless finger syndrome.

^ I learned awhile back that you can't make people happy...or nice, for that matter. Just do your own thing, what makes YOU feel good about yourself, what makes YOU happy, what lets you sleep at night. Everyone else? Fuck 'em.

People are dickish to you because they are, surprise, DICKS. They are unhappy or pissed at the world and it really has fuck-all to do with you. Really. Even people who genuinely like you may occasionally have a bad day and you may occasionally catch some of the shrapnel when they explode.

Basically, everyone can be a total dick from time to time. That's on them.

(Wow, I swore a lot in that reply, didn't I?)

"You were like a Redd Foxx record"

Goddamn, they were out in force today.

Most of them are minor quibbles, but the major ones that stuck out:

The lady in an SUV that pulled into a two-way street and made a wide U-turn and ended up blocking the lane she left, so nobody could get in, while traffic came by on the intersecting street. I saw her again as she passed by me after I got back. She was taking a garage sale sign down. I wonder if it was hers or she was yanking somebody else's.

The guy in a big pick-up truck that nearing side-swiped me. He gunned it and didn't use a blinker or even LOOK, he just yanked the wheel into my lane. If it wasn't for the fact I'm quick on the draw and paying attention, I'd have been hit. I can only imagine what a texting peson would have done -- no doubt veer into oncoming traffic or hit the brakes, letting the person in back slam into them, 'cause the phase was so distracting.

On the plus side though, I helped an elderly man who was saking and using a stand to walk with.

On the weird side: the tiny old lady behind me in line that was making noises. I can't tell if she was trying to sing but couldn't do it anymore, or if she was mumbling like she was on a vibratign bed. It sounded the latter. I know, it's not right to say it, but it was kind of funny. I wonder what she does if I put a quarter in one of her pockets.

Yeah. I went to my doctor ten days after the first bout and got my voice back with medication. Then it died again and I went back to the doctor and got stronger meds. That usually works, but this time it hasn't. Last year, I lost my voice for 57 days, a new record. I feel tight in the chest, the Flonase and antihistamine treatment isn't working enough...

Damn :(, maybe try something for general stress relief. I say that even though most of them don't work for me but they might for you.

Teas and that kind of thing, I'm getting a few stress illnesses again and any advice would be welcome from anyone right now.

I did buy some lavendar scented incense and oils at one point, must try and find them.

Feeling pretty ill today, which sucks because I usually don't get ill.

Eyeglasses fell off while dozing yesterday, and since everything past my nose is heavily out of focus, haven't found them yet. But they're around here somewhere.

eta: Just found them.

Being treated like I am not a person. :(
{{Hugs}} That sucks :(. Can relate sometimes. Some people.

When my DEAR DVR decides to stop recording completely... meaning even after I delete stuff it's still showing up at 0% space. I tried hard rebooting, but I'll give it another shot, via both DVR's to see if it helps. The timing couldn't be worse.

Been looking forward to this week via METV. They're having a nightly Perry Mason movie marathon.

And since it's rather late (starting at 12:30 am each night), I planned on DVR'ing it so I could watch it the next day.

Watching the most incompetent, unprofessional, childish people at work being kept on, while all the reliable, competent and mature people quit or get moved to other departments. *sigh*

I'll add to the traffic tales of woe... I was waiting at a red light, in the right lane, planning to go straight through the intersection. There was a big truck next to me, in the clearly marked "left turn only" lane. Except when the light changed, the truck went straight. No signal, no nothing, even though I was already moving forward. (And, no, I was not in his blind spot.) :scream: Thank God I have good reflexes.
