Things that frustrate us all

I'm officially 32 as of today, I hate it. I hate aging, I hate the grey hairs, the starting backpain, the neverending chores and bills. And the worst thing is that it's going downhill from now on. The only things I like about aging is having a birthday party, the presents, the attention, and the money from family
Happy Birthday! Enjoy the party.

Food trucks that park right next to parking lot entrance/exits so that as I'm leaving the lot, there's a big-ass truck blocking my view of approaching traffic on my left.

Anyone ever made a purchase from Walmart and it was delivered from a nearby (or far away) store instead of mailed from a warehouse? Tracking is completely off. It gives you to the ETA based on how long it takes to drive to your address, but it doesn't take into account all the stops along the way so the ETA keeps changing until it's hours later than originally given.

Good lord, is there a full moon or do people just have a case of the stupid?
Showed up for work, checked in, looked at the schedule to see what web appointments had been added since Saturday and called to confirm.
Called the three o'clock oil change to confirm.
Customer answered the phone, I said "Hi, this is Pep Boys Woodinville calling to confirm your 3pm oil change."
There's a pause at the other end.
"Where did you say you were calling from?"
"Pep Boys Woodinville."
"Is that anywhere near Reno, Nevada?"
"No. This is Woodinville, Washington."
"Oh. I thought I was making an appointment at the Reno store. You can cancel my appointment."

Phone call this afternoon.
"Hi. I had work done on my truck back in Philadelphia and I drove across country and my truck started acting up and I know it's under warranty so I was calling around to see where the closet Pep Boys was to my location."
"Where are you calling from, sir?"
"Spokane. I see you have a location in Seattle. How far is that?"
"Well, we're on the other side of the state. About 6 to 8 hours on I-90. I know whatever work done might still be under warranty, but I would recommend trying to find a local shop or dealer to look at your vehicle."

Customer walks into the lobby and he says he's here for his 3pm oil change.
I look at the screen and there's no 3pm appointment, and I swivel the screen to show him.
"But I booked it online and received a confirmation notice."
Customer hands me his phone.
I look at the screen.
"Sir. You made the appointment for 3am Monday. Not 3pm."
"Oh. I don't know how it let me do that. Do you still have time?"
Go out and check with Paul. Paul says get his information and check him in.
Larry does the work and I bill the customer out.
Customer gets in his car and leaves.
A short while later he comes back in.
"I was looking at my bill. Where's my 50% discount?"
"I have a coupon for 50% off your next oil change. I got it in an email. That's why I chose your store."
Look at his phone, and yes, there is a 50% off oil change coupon from Pep Boys on his phone.
I just looked at him and said it would have been nice if you had presented this to me when I was checking you in or when I billed you out. I've already billed you out. I would have to call Audits and have them issue a refund because I can't do it from my end. Otherwise, the best I can do is offer you 50% off your next oil change."
And I wrote down "50% off next oil change" on his receipt, and signed and dated it.
"I think I'll just take my car somewhere else from now on."
Snatches the receipt off the counter and walks out.
How is any of what just transpired in any way my fault.

Always bet on people being stupid.

Happy Birthday, have a great day. You have lots of youth left in you yet at 32.

Happy Birthday!

You still have a lot of good years ahead of you.

The 30s are the best years. You're out of your 20s, so you're making more money. And your health is near its max. The 30s are great.

Have a good b day.

Happy Birthday. I hope this year is your best yet.

Happy b-day.

I've always hated birthday parties as they were always overstimulating. Finally told my parents when I was nine or ten years old that I didn't want any more birthday parties.

Happy Birthday! Enjoy the party.
Thank you everyone, I guess I've dealing with internal ageism. I'm following two separate guys on Instagram who roast incels and one of the things incels keep saying is that a woman is past her prime when she turns 30. So I decided not give a fuck about the opinion of those losers and be pleased they are not longer interested in me because I'm 32 now

I don't even remember 32. I still have the suitcase I bought when I went off to college, and I just did the math. That suitcase is now one year younger than you are.

This makes me so angry.

I'm going to share something personal, I don't like children. I knew I didn't want children when I watched supernanny UK as a teenager, I couldn't imagine dealing with a child like that 24/7 and be like: yup, this is the best thing that ever happened to me. It made my uterus shrivel up and die and destroyed the blueprint for my biological clock for good measure.

My dislike for children only grew as I aged. I find them annoying, needy, impatient and downright insufferable. It has gotten so bad that I wince whenever I see a perent with a baby or toddler on the bus and hope the child will be quiet. Neither the baby, toddler, child and teenager fase are appealing to me. The only fase that is appealing to me is the moment where they fuck off and live alone. So tell me again why I should have children? This guy can fuck off!!!

I understand completely. I knew from a very young age that I never wanted children, and I haven't regretted that choice (I'm post-menopausal so the boat has sailed). I used to hate kids, but don't so much anymore, and I love my friends kids (all grown up now). But I've never really understood the desire to have them. I think I was just born without that wiring.

I have always liked kids--the 15/16 and under kids are usually great to be around. However, I find late-teens and young 20-somethings tend to be self-centered, arrogant assholes. But then, age is about discovery and learning how to be an adult, being your own person. So that asshole-behavior kinda comes with it.

Most of my friends are accidents, rather than from planned pregnancies. This is why our population hasn't completely died off.

If you plan to have them early, then you most likely won't have to go through IVF. This is what the waiters and planners that I know experienced. They didn't want to have kids in their 20s because of career, and then they ended up needing to spend a lot of money to have kids later.

Being older now, it would be nice to have kids that would take care of me when I'm older. But this assumes that I would have had good kids.

The most logical reason is to reduce cancer risk if you're a woman.

Same here. And I speak as a self aware asshole when I was 20.

That's what society gets for treating sex solely as a pleasure act.

This kind of nonsense is infuriating even for those of us who like children and have children of our own. Deciding not to have children is 100% a perfectly valid choice, and no woman should be pressured or forced into it ever.

It just kind of reinforces that conservative men see us primarily has human incubators. Do you think they would be pushing this if cisgender men could get pregnant? Hell, no!

Poilievre has been known to do the same sort of thing here, with his "biological clock" nonsense, seemingly unaware of how creepy it sounds. There's a reason that his approval rating with women is only around 26%.

Being older now, it would be nice to have kids that would take care of me when I'm older.

I have heard this argument come up before in this debate many times. No offence to you personally, but it has always struck me as one of the more selfish arguments I have heard. If your reason for having children is because you're expecting free nursing support later in life, then you probably shouldn't be having children at all.

I have several thoughts here:

1. I think it's a good idea people get kids in their 30's, I've read so many stories of people who regret having children too early

2. Fuck you, Karen. I dare you to go to a nursing home and ask how many people see their (grand)children on days besides their birthday and the holidays.

3. I'm not even bothering to watch that YouTube video because I know it will make my blood boil, this is most idiotic thing I've heard besides vaccines causes autism and all the TikTock doctors during covid

1. Don't forget that's it's extremely insulting towards people who are infertile

2. I agree with you, children are not a retirement plan
