Things that frustrate us all

Fun fact: If the sun is just barely starting to rise, and you are walking somewhere where people ride and walk their horses, it's very hard to tell what's manure, and what's a hoofprint. And stepping in a hoofprint in soft dirt is also a good way to trip and almost fall on your face.
One more thing to add to this, manure in the street is very hard to see, when you're wearing sunglasses and it's cloudy out, I've missed it and ridden my bike through several piles that way.
Even when it's cloudy and a little darker out I still wear my sunglass to keep the wind, dirt, ect. The last time I didn't and I didn't, I ended up with a ton of dirt in my eyes when I rode past the stables. Well, I'm still hoping it was just dirt, it was very windy and there are a bunch of open stalls are right along the road where I ride past.

I was running a 3D rendering process overnight, but the computer decided to do a Windows update/restart during that time.

Kor
I hate updates. I was in a Zoom meeting and the update ran regardless, shutting down my camera and restarting it before shutting down my computer. It's so random and aggravating. And if it isn't Windows, it's the computer's manufacturer!

I hate computers. For all the good they bring, it seems they bring a massive amount of chaos, particularly when you're on a deadline and you need to get work done.

Ever since I moved to the front counter at the automotive repair/tire a few weeks ago, the number of customers who I've dealt with last couple of days who want to bring their vehicle in for a lube/oil/filter and/or all season or winter tires and they want it done today because they're going on a trip over the passes this weekend and I explain to them we're booked thru Wednesday of next week with other people doing the same thing and they get upset because we can't accommodate them, then they say they're going to take their business to a competitor. Fine, go ahead, you're going to get the same answer there. I'm not going to rearrange my technicians schedule to accommodate a last minute customer who should have thought of this before the weather changed and it started snowing in the mountains.

You know what? I've got a good one that REALLY pisses me off, and another thread actually illustrated this.

People making assumptions like sexism, racism, sexual orientationism (I don't know if there is term for it, so I just came up with this), etc. where there is no mention or hint of it by another person.

Seriously... that kind of closed-mindedness and pigeonholing of other people is EXACTLY why people can't discuss things with each other.

People who throw those terms around loosely tend to be far more closed-minded than the people they accuse of being. You know what that's called?

HYPOCRISY!

And it's just so damned prevalent in society that nothing really gets done.

TOTALLY agree with you, friend. And I think that those terms are thrown around by people who don't know what they really are.

Saying that a certain Trek captain (one of my favorite Trek captains, mind you) made some questionable decisions would normally be critiquing... but apparently now it's sexism. But that's just the tip of the iceberg...

Saying that black lives matter not because they're black, but because they're lives, and ALL lives matter... apparently, that's racist. And believing that only legal immigration should be welcomed... appatently, that's not supporting rule of law anymore; it's racism too.

It used to be that people were permitted to follow the parameters of their religion, you know, like the Constitution allows. But now, they must be targeted as homophobic (that's the term you wanted, Farscape).

If you ever saw the final speech of "The American President", you probably know that Michael Douglas's character is liberal as @*$#!, given that he declares war on fossil fuels and states his intention to forcibly disarm the American people. But even he "gets it" on the need to respect people's rights to their own opinion. No matter how much you may hate what they have to say.

Here's the speech, for those of you who are interested:

Thank you, but I was looking for a term that encompasses all the phobics that are in that realm. (Homophobia, transphobia, etc.)

Maybe that is the blanket term, I don't know. Either way, good post, and thanks for sharing that clip. (I've never seen THE AMERICAN PRESIDENT, but I like that clip.)

Thanks... if you ever wanted a speech condemning cancel culture, it's right there.

Another good one is Jim Carrey's statement to the court near the end of "The Majestic", a savage condemnation of the 1950's version of the same phenomenon.

I cannot stand rude behavior but this past weekend took the cake for me. My in-laws have a feud going on with another family member that basically means a grandparent is just never invited to family functions with her son and daughter-in-law. It's stupid and petty but it's been going on 30 years so not much I can do about it. However, some members expected this left out member to watch their dogs while they got to go to a party...

Obviously don't know the circumstances but if my mum or dad were excluded I wouldn't attend either
