Things that frustrate us all

^ I can cook SKYLINE CHILI  but that's about it.

Well, don't feel too bad. The only thing I can cook is scrambled eggs. That, and fry hamburger. Besides those, everything else gets nuked.

My girlfriend does the cooking. She's good at it. And doesn't run the risk of burning half the neighborhood down when she does it.

It's frustrating not knowing what new ship to buy for your Star Trek Online toon. Especially, if there is not much in sleekness, speed, practicality for the toon and user.

Waking up at 3am because you have to pee. I really should stop drinking so much water before bed.

When my internet speed slows down to a crawl. I don't pay $40 a month for dial up... AT&T.

All they would say is "well, sir, we only guarantee you can get speeds up to this, but that doesn't mean you will always get that speed," and then they'll gladly take your next $40.

Yea I know, J. But it goes all the way down to 0.25mbps at times. That's why I'm rather upset about it. I wouldn't be so much if it wasn't so much of a drastic drop off.

I do share your pain. When I had AT&T, I'd have a connection so unstable and so often that I wrote an entire novel in-between the downtime. They were still charging me $45 a month, and just kept repeating the "we can't guarantee blah blah blah..." so I eventually left. Awful, awful service.

Yea. It's a challenge just finding times when it's good enough to download (Freegal, Sony and Nintendo, along with itunes at times). Love the infrastructure ;).

I'd do that too tbh, but I think (as far as I know) that I'm grandfathered into the old unlimited internet... so that's basically what's kept me around. Other than that, I'd be out of there, if there were other choices than... Comcast :scream:... I'd rather go with Charter.

Didn't run into too many issues with them over the years. Sadly though, I live out of their coverage area :(. Who did you end up going with, once leaving AT&T?

I went with Cincinnati Bell. I pay the same amount of money, and I only get half the speed I did with AT&T, but it's stable, reliable, and the customer service has been excellent. Still, they've promised that in about a month my area will be eligible for their fiber optic service, and while the speed won't be 1 Gigabit internet (we're at the very fringe of their service area), I will get 10 Mbps for supposedly the same price as what I'm paying now.

Ah. Well that's good for the customer service and the stability. That, you can't find a lot these days. It seems as if the infrastructure is falling apart :(.

On a good note, the speed's been good today :). So I've been able to get some stuff done.

Experienced this one today, and it's not the first time:

People who are so consumed by what they are doing with their plastic iThingy, that they round corners without looking at what is coming around it.

That's a great way to get brused in the shins from a shopping cart and maybe end up on your back with the back of your skull smacking the hard tile. I'm sure that could never resutls in death or blood clots later.

Yea that wouldn't good at all :(. Watch where you're going people! Your ithingie won't grow legs and run away from you :p. It's better to stay safe.

While I was bartending last night, I noticed at one point that every single person at my bar was staring down at their iThingies.

I walked up to the largest group to check on them, and very innocently asked, "So guys, how're your phones doing tonight?"

One or two times that happened to me in SF, where someone was involved in their smartphone and weaving to and fro not watching where they're going on the sidewalk.

I just stand in their way until they decide to look up. Most of time, I receive a 'sorry.'

That's especially annoying for people who WORK in the store and are trying to help these iJunkies, who refuse to pay attention to anything but their precious little devices. IMHO, it's extremely rude for a customer to be talking on their damn phones while at the same time checking out...

Definitely. Come on people! These people are trying to help you out and you're on your dang phone.

I work for a major pharma company. They have this major campaign going on about distracted driving, including of course cell phone use & texting.

No mention of not walking around with your nose planted in the phone, even though a girl got run over by a freakin' garbage truck a few years ago, because she was texting.

I mean, how self involved do you have to be to not notice a garbage truck, with the noise & the back-up alarm?

Plus, I'm in a large building that has small vehicles running around all day. Yet, there's another girl with the phone in front of her face pretty much all the time.

Idiots working for bigger idiots.

Being unable to communicate what seems like a simple idea in one's head. Lately I've been having more and more trouble effectively communicating, and it's starting to irk me. The words seem okay in my head, but when I go to type them out, they become a confusing gibberish in-between. This was never a problem before, but it is now.
